HARTFORD, Wis., January 22, 2013 – Ranging from energy-efficient bathroom fans to a space-saving ironing center, 13 innovative products from theBroan-NuTone^® family of products are showcased throughout The New American Home 2013 (TNAH).

TNAH is constructed annually in conjunction with the International Builders’ Show (IBS), sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). As the NAHB’s show home, TNAH (pictured left; courtesy NAHB) features design trends and innovative construction techniques, products and materials that can be incorporated into any new or remodeled home.

The products in the 2013 dwelling were provided by members of The Leading Suppliers Council, which represents the leading manufacturers and suppliers to the construction industry. Broan-NuTone was an early council supporter and is a member of the “Fifty-Year IBS Exhibitors” club.

For TNAH 2013, Broan-NuTone supplied the following:

• Eight Broan^® ULTRA™ Series Fans (ZB80) are installed throughout the home in the various bathrooms, including the master bath, guest suite bath and powder rooms. TheseENERGY STAR^® qualified fans have been designated ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2013 and provide powerful ventilation at 80 CFM (cubic feet per minute).

• BROAN QT Series™ Humidity-Sensing Fans ( QTXE110S ) are installed in the first-floor master bath and a second-floor guest suite bath. The Humidity-Sensing Fan turns ON when it detects a rapid rise in humidity and shuts OFF automatically in 5 to 60 minutes when the humidity level returns to normal. The ultra-quiet fan operates at 0.7 Sones and 110 CFM.

• A BROAN ENERGY STAR qualified QT Series Bath Fan ( QTXE150 ) operates at 1.4 Sones in the laundry room. The 150 CFM fan features 6-inch ducting for superior performance.

• The NuTone^®Central Vacuum System provides unparalleled cleaning power, removing dirt, allergens and dust from the home to create a healthier environment. The Power Unit ( VX1000C ) installed in the garage delivers 1040 air watts of power and incorporates easy-to-use features such as a state-of-the-art control board, a direct access panel for filter cleaning and an easy-on/easy-off debris pail. The Deluxe Electric Kit ( CK355 ) includes a wide selection of attachments for carpeting, hard floors, draperies and furniture to ensure easy cleaning throughout the home.

• The NuTone Deluxe Ironing Center (AVD50N) in the laundry room, which came with an unfinished birch door to allow for décor customization, a height-adjustable board and storage shelves for an iron and sprays, can swivel 180 degrees.

Designed and built by Blue Heron of Las Vegas, TNAH 2013 is based on the Desert Contemporary style, with a focus on outdoor living. The theme of the house this year is green building in Las Vegas, and the builder has found a way to incorporate green technology throughout the design.

The 6,000-square-foot house has achieved Emerald status under the green building certification process administered by the NAHB Research Center and based on the ICC 700-2008 National Green Building Standard™. Emerald is the highest of the four levels of green building achievement that the standard recognizes.

The house is in the Marquis Las Vegas community, a luxury semi-custom home development in southeastern Las Vegas.
