The best solution under the sun.

Proper ventilation in the summer leads to lower attic temperatures. Which, in turn, translate to less oppressive heat that can cause damage to your home’s structure and shingles. An adequately insulated and ventilated attic also results in lower energy draw for your air conditioner—it's working less because there is less overall heat to overcome. How much ventilation do you need?

Effective attic ventilation requires air to exit at or near the peak of the roof and replacement air to be drawn in under the eaves of the house, via soffit venting. The Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) recommends that powered attic ventilators provide at least 10 air changes per hour to equalize attic temperature.
