  • Roof matching domes means ventilation is less noticeable.

Too often, attic ventilation is overlooked, not to mention ignored as a place for energy savings. That’s where Broan solutions make sense. Consider this: air trapped in your attic can easily reach 150 degrees or more. With Broan ventilation solutions, it’s still a full 60 degrees cooler in the attic on a 90 degree day. That’s why attic ventilation is critical to making any home more comfortable while lowering energy costs. Air conditioners can run less and won’t have to work as hard. Humid, stagnant air can be removed, drawing fresh dry air across the surfaces. Your attic can be drier and cooler – the perfect tools to help fight potential moisture damage.

Each PVC dome is available in three popular performance ratings along with two metal dome models. Select one that best suits the attic size and shingle color.

  • Effective attic ventilation requires air to exit at or near the peak of the roof and replacement air to be drawn in under the eaves of the house, via soffit venting. The Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) recommends that powered attic ventilators provide at least 10 air changes per hour to equalize attic temperature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great job for about 8 years My fan died after about 8 years. Other than that it worked just fine. Could not be more pleased, all motors die sooner or later. Considering the extreme attic temperatures I was surprised it lasted over 4 years. For the price at Lowe’s you can’t beat it. Off to get another one! May 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by product name replaced old fan 25 + years old so far so good works as expected if it lasts 25 years I will be happy September 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice product! Bought this to replace a friends NuTone fan. This was the correct fan. I really needed only the fan and control, but replacing with whole unit was pretty simple. Had to remove old fan and put in 3 sheet metal screws. Slight alignment adjustment was needed to keep fan blades from touching old fan housing. July 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Efficient and Quiet I had a 1600 CFM attic ventilator installed about 3 years ago and it was noisy! I finally decided to switch to the 1050 CFM unit, which is also the correct size for my house. And it is nice and quiet and efficient! June 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by 35316 works as designed I purchased a house where the two old gable fans no longer were operational. I found the 35316 on-line at Amazon.com and ordered two fans. My contractor installed them with light switches so I could manually turn them off without using the built-in thermostats. As it turns out, one of the fans failed to work when I turned it on. The contractor checked that there was power to the fan. I called Broan and they immediately sent me a new thermostat and motor. As it turned out, the original motor was defective - DOA, but the thermostat was OK. I unbolted the fan from the housing and disconnected the wiring and installed the replacement motor into the housing and reconnected the wiring. The customer service person was very helpful telling me that I needed about 4 square feet venting/fan for each fan to operate properly and that I should set the thermostat to about 30 degrees above the normal room temperature for each attic. This was very useful since the fan that was working was on all the time because I set the thermostat temperature too low at 80 degrees causing the fan to stay on all the time. Broan makes good stuff! My stove top exhaust fan is still in perfect condition after 50 years of service. I highly recommend Broan for the quality of their products and honoring their warranties. July 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The attic fan has great features The instructions are helpful and make for an enjoyable install. I am wiring in the thermostat bypass and fan motor switches. I am looking forward to the first summer with an attic fan and expecting the house to be more comfortable. April 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Much Improved Product This model replaced an older Broan ventilator installed around 15 years ago. This newer model is much quieter, has a better thermostat adjustment and is definitely more efficient. March 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by The 35316 exhibits a horrible vibration that shakes the entire house. Great potential if only the fan was balanced at the factory. Vibration is horrible. April 23, 2014

just installed this fan last weekend, sized for our attic & venting and with summer temps setting in, the fan is running 10-12 hours. set it @ 105, suggested for our area, and it is seeming to help cool our house, which is great. is it okay to be running that long? we want the fan to last as well as perform. thank you

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 353 gable mounted attic ventilator. 105 seems a little low to have the thermostat set at, but it should not hurt the fan to continue running at that setting. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 353. This model is rated at 3.5 amps so anything over that would be acceptable. Typically, it would be a 15 amp breaker. Extending the wiring from the lighting would be a decision you would need to make, but we would recommend checking your local codes to make sure it would be permissible.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 35316 gable-mounted powered attic ventilator. The 433 automatic shutter features counter-balanced aluminum vanes that open and close as the fan starts and stops. There is no electrical wired to the shutter.
