    • GU10, 120-volt, 50-watt Halogen bulb
    • Color Temperature: 2700-2800 Kelvin
  • GU10 is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate it This thing is cheap. The rocker switch for the lights broke after six months. It only works in the 0 and 2 positions.one of the four light sockets doesn't work. It burns through the bulbs every four months and they are next to impossible to get in and out of the sockets and the bulbs cost about $10 for a three pack. I clean the screens regularly but it still drips grease all over the top of my stove.

  • Can LED bulbs be used in place of the halogen bulbs in the vent hoods?

I just replaced the original 50Watt halogen lamps with 4.1 Watt dimmable (35 watt equivalent) lamps sold at Home Depot by FEIT. for under $6 apiece. They fit perfectly...same exact form-factor as the factory originals. However since they draw so much less amperage they do not have the same functionality as the originals. They only operate at full brightness. ...even during the hood's "night light" function. But that means it's still only drawing 16.4 watts. Even so, I recommend making the switch. The light isn't quite as "warm " (yellowish) as the halogens , but, again, you are burning 1/4 to 1/12 of the electricity.

    LED Bulb replacements

I read your response that at this time Broan cannot recommend any LED replacement bulbs for this unit. Could you tell me why? I too just purchased this hood, and I would really like to consider LED bulbs. The efficiency (and lack of heat) is much better with an LED. It seems like I can find an LED replacement. There a many available. Is there a safety issue with the LED replacement? General specs would be helpful. Also - I cannot find the length and diameter of the recommended halogen GU10 bulb. Is this something you could provide? Thanks.

You simply apply a little upward pressure on the lamp and twist counterclockwise (to the left) and it will come unseated and then drop down.
