Rated 1 out of 5 by This is a defective product-the switch repeatedly breaks! As many others have commented, I too have have problems with the switch. It is a cheap thin plastic that easily breaks. I am on my third one in two years. It is hard to replace and costs $20. Broan should fix this problem with a permanent situation. Light bulbs are also an issue. Hard to install, very diificult to replace. Avoid this product!! June 11, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by one more chance Product works well, until the cheap plastic switch breaks. I have replaced the poor quality switches two times, and when this one breaks, it will be with another brand to replace the complete hood. I am very disappointed in this because Broan has always meant quality. Would recommend this product if the switches were of better construction, quality. June 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great update to kitchen I love the design compared to my old one. Rounded top looks nicer over the stove. I love the halogen lights. I have never had so much light over the stove and the option of low and high is wonderful. The easy clean filters make the upkeep a breeze and a joy since you can pop them into the dishwasher. The price for this unit is well worth it. Not really expensive at all. The install took a little work for the installers only because of what was behind the old unit. Actual install was quite easy. Rated 4 out of 5 by Light switch breakage. I would recommend this product if the switch issue was resolved by Broan. I read the reviews on this product. We have the problem with the light switch. What puzzles us here is that we use the fan switch 2 to 3 times more often than the light switch. If the switches that I have ordered show no design improvement I am going to experiment with modifying some plastic sheeting of various thicknesses and attempt to make a support to add strength to the back side of the new parts. It seems like there is enough room in the enclosure to accommodate slightly longer screws fastened with nuts and anti-rotation washers. February 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Product Except..... I have been very pleased with this product. It's a good product except like many other reviewers I owned this product for a little over a year when the light/fan switch assembly broke. I have ordered a new switch and nameplate sticker. I can only hope that since there have been so many occurrences of the switch breaking that Broan has redesigned it, maybe made or reinforced it with metal for better durability, so replacement doesn't become a annual custom. I can not recommend this product if I have to replace this switch every year or two. January 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor switch design. Condensation in winter We have had this fan in our new house for (2) years. The switch mechanism came loose in the first year but was usable. The mechanism totally yesterday. Upon disassembling I found the bracket holding in the switches to be very weak. Ordered the part just now and had to order a assembly including the switches for $20. The switch mounting bracket was the only part I needed. I am dissappointed I have to spend 20 bucks for parts that should not have broke in the first place. My wife is very upset. The unit is not insulated well and drips condensation on the stove in the winter. I verified the check valve going outside does indeed operate and seals. November 22, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Instruction manual in box The manual in the box states on page 5 that 4 halogen bulbs are included. They are not. This misinformation required a 38 mile round trip it get them and cost me $16.84 when it supposedly was included. Somewhat disappointed. Upon accessing this website, I learn you have corrected the online manual. Thank you for that. October 21, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Long time Broan user Bought this to replace a Broan we had for almost 20 years and thought we would get another Broan. It's OK but we should have bought a model with better controls/switches because we have had to replace the rocker switches twice because they broke. Still, we would buy another Broan, just a better and more expensive model. September 5, 2014
