  • This patent-pending series marks a revolution of our mid-range ventilation fans. It gives professionals the flexibility to handle new construction or room-side retrofit installations from one hard-working product line with a full range of operating points. Innovations include foldable mounting ears and new damper and housing technology that improve building airtightness like never before. And all with new grille designs that are at home in any decor.

    • Retrofit installations can be done entirely from the room-side – no attic access required. This means a faster, easier installation, so you can move on to something else
    • With our TrueSeal™ Damper Technology, InVent fans reduce air leakage by up to Fifty Percent* compared to competitive models, resulting in better home performance via blower door tests and reducing cold and warm air backdrafts
    • EzDuct™ Connector can be installed room-side with no attic access required, fan housing connection have never been easier
    • ENERGY STAR® Certified
    • UL Listed for use over tubs and showers with a GFCI circuit; so you can capture the steam before it spreads throughout the room by locating your fan exactly where you need it the most

  • AER50 is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from This fan is quiet, however not very powerful. I needed a quiet fan because the location is near family room. It is quiet. However it is not powerful enough to vent steam from my small bathroom. It takes way too long compared to my old fan which it replaced.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Install is easy and fan pull good volume but not quiet. I bought this fan as s new install in a old bath. I bought it for its simple install the brand name and its size and quiet noise level claim. Everything was true. Except the noise level. The fan is noisier than expected. It was easy to install and the instructions were easy to follow. The wiring was well thought out and simple. The finished install looks professional and pulls a good amount of exhaust air from the bath, however in the half bath the fan produces more noise than I had hoped. It was rated at a very low noise level in scones but it is sort of loud. Other than that it works well and looks good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very loud for .5 soans Just installed the Broan AER50. Selected this unit for it's advertised .5 soans for a very quiet fan. When I turned the switch on I could not believe how loud it is. Same as the 3 soans fan I installed earlier this month. It can be heard down the hall from each bedroom. Not at all what the display model in Menards indicated what the fan noise would be. I tried to find another fan to fit in the hole I sawed in the ceiling and nothing else would work. I hope to yet find an alternative fan to replace this one.

  • Efficacy of wall mounting

The installation instructions say that this fan may be wall mounted. Does wall mounting alter the efficacy of the damper or raise the noise level?
    Asked by: Rick
Thank you for your question on the Broan AER50. When mounting the Broan AER50 the damper should be pointed in the up position in the wall. This will ensure the damper will open and close properly. The sound level will not be compromised by mounting the exhaust fan in the wall. If you have further questions, please contact Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453.
