  • High Temp Cut-Off for use with all BROAN powered attic ventilators

    • Limit switch automatically turns off ventilator at 204° F
    • Includes manual on/off switch
  • does this work with ventilator model 353? And, if so, can the max temp shut off

be adjusted down to 130 or 140 F? I'm looking for something that will give me confidence that the 353 ventilator will shut down automatically at a max temperature that I can set as low as 130 or 140 F for automatic shut OFF, and that I can set at 90F to turn the fan ON.

Thank you for your question on the model 353 attic ventilator. The 353 comes with a user settable thermostat to turn the fan on and off. It has a range of 75 – 135 degrees Fahrenheit. A normal setting would be around 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Instructions for setting the thermostat are found in the Installation guide. We also have a model 73, high temperature cut off that can be used with this fan. It will cut off the power to the fan if it gets to 204 degrees Fahrenheit. The model 73 cannot be adjusted. It is factory set at 204 degrees. For further assistance, please contact our Technical Support department at 800-637-1453.

Where can I find a 1600CFM roof mount "white color" attic ventilator?

Can I use my current thermostat for my new Broan 1600 CFM roof mount powered attic ventilator? I currently have a 1200 CFM that quit working after 30 yrs!!!

Thank you for your question on the attic ventilators. We only have one model of attic ventilator that has 1600 CFM. It is model 356 and it only comes in brown (356BR) or black (356BL). The units come with a thermostat connected to it so you would not use your current thermostat.

Does this bypass the 355BK thermostat?

I'm going to install a 355BK attic fan and need to remotely control the thermostat from a wall switch in the garage. How does this affect the built in thermostat? Is there special wiring requirements?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model 355BK attic ventilator. We do not have an option to remotely control the thermostat on this model. The model 73 is a high temperature cut off to disconnect the power from a fan if the ambient temperature goes over 204 degrees Fahrenheit. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

Can multiple fans be wired to one high temperature control?

I need two attic ventilation fans for the size of my attic. So I want to know if both can be wired to the same control.

Thank you for your question on the model 73 high temperature cut off switch. The model 73 can be used for multiple fans, as long as the total current does not exceed the current limit of the switch. The 73 is rated at 22 Amps.
