Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product for the money!!! Great product, wish it would take LED dimable lighting. July 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent appearance and quiet operation The hood has an excellent appearance, complimenting the other kitchen appliances. It is easy to operate, and is quiet and efficient. July 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Preforms as advertised In today's world so many things never preform as advertised. Not this Broan vent hood . . . . . it is fantastic! Love the lighting, the low sound level and programming options. Especially like the auto off after done cooking that keeps venting for you after cooking but you don't have to get up later and turn off yourself. Don't hesitate purchasing if this hood has the features you are looking for. February 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding The exhaust is great, so quite, yet it moves a large volumn of air quickly. I love the night light feature, I can't say enough about this product, we just love it. February 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Looks great, easy to install, and very quiet This Broan model is a great buy for the 300 to 500 price range hood. Installation was straight forward and easy. Even at high setting, this hood is a lot quieter than some of the other brand I've experienced. The 4 speed setting is great so you can adjust the level of suction needed. The 2 draw back I would like to point out is the type of bulb and fan placement. The bulb used is halogen and so it gets really hot. I wish they would use an incandescent bulb instead of the halogen type. Second is the suction fan is located on the left side of the unit under the left filter. If they had it place in the center, the suction for both side would be more effective. I have to always use highest fan speed when having something cooking on the right side of the unit to get optimum removal of smoke. February 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by exellent product since I installed it its been working fine I can not complaint only makes noise when detects heat and runs on high speed but then goes back to normal operation.- I'm happy with this product February 6, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Marginal Consideration I am sorry to say that I am disappointed with this unit. It has a built in heat sensor that throws the unit in high exhaust cycle at a prolonged length of time and quite annoying in sound to be honest. There is NO way of bypassing this feature and for that I am disappointed with this item. January 14, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overall an excellent product Installation instructions are very poor. This makes for a difficult install, primarly with the mounting and electrical connections. Once installed it works great. September 13, 2014

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QP430SS range hood. The single dot button turns the light on the low setting and activates a green indicator above the button. Pressing the two dot button turns the light on the medium setting and activates a green indicator above the button. Pressing the three dot button turns the light on the high setting and activates a green indicator above the button. Pressing and holding the same light button again will turn the lights off. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

    Would 8" duct help?

    Customer avatar
    by
    Janusz
    Framingham, MA
     on QP430SS
I cannot use 3-1/4x14" duct in my kitchen, but can go beyond a 7" duct, for example an 8" duct which gives a larger area of the opening (50.26/45.5=1.10) by about 10%. This can be accomplished with Model 459 transition. I would run 2 ft of 3-1/4x14" up, then Model 459 transition, a 90 deg elbow, 10 ft horizontally of 8" duct, 90 deg elbow and out the wall. By how much would the max of 630 cfm get reduced in this case?

I saw in another answer that with a 3-1/4x14" duct, the max run is 19 ft. If 8" duct is as good as 3-1/4x14" duct, then with two elbows I could run 19-7-7 = 5 ft only. This is 7 ft short of what I need. How much would the additional 7 ft reduce the 630 cfm air flow?

    Thanks

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QP430SS range hood. To duct your hood the distance you are planning, without losing CFM, you would need to use at least 9 inch duct work. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.
