  • QTX110HFLT is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ths product has great features but heater assembly has failed twice in under 2 years The QTX110hl we purchased through a large box store while a good unit and has some nice features has shown to be unreliable when it comes to the heat element. The heater element has failed twice in less than two years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Heating element lasted less than a year Love this unit, but cannot recommend. Heating element has gone out in just 10 months, with a summer of non-use included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so quiet. heat fan warms perfectly. the unit runs very quietly. on a few cold mornings this fall the heat fan was so very nice. I like that the light, night light, vent and heat are all in one unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent fan/light/heater combo, but not quiet I bought the more expensive model because I wanted a quiet unit. Our previous Broan model was loud, so I thought more money equals quieter operation. However, that's not true. While it may have run quieter during its first year, it's very loud now after only 2-1/2 years of use. And...the heater element just gave out, so I have to order a new one. I do have to say it does a good job of pulling out moist air and pumping in quite a bit of heat in a short time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from has worked well for 6 1/2 years till heating element went out. And we did not use heating element that much. Overall rating is good product and would use again except disappointed with the heating unit. the vent is VERY QUIET and we like that very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product with exhaust fan, heater and lights We installed a QTX110HL two years ago when we had our bathroom remodeled. It works great and we just had another one installed in our other bathroom since the existing fan did not remove the moisture effectively when showering. The new Broan QTX110HL is quieter, removes the moisture effectively (no more foggy mirror) and will keep us warm when winter comes. Great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Except for the damper, this fan is great This fan was used when I had my main bath renovated and I loved the quiet operation. When the fan in my master bath needed replacing, I purchased it on-line for my handyman to install. Great fan except the damper is made of plastic and has very flimsy pins on the flap to hold it in place. The pins were broken on the damper flap in the sealed box. My handyman couldn't complete the installation and now has to come back. I had a replacement damper sent and the pins are broken on that one too! I just called for a second replacement. NuTone - how could you engineer such a fragile part?? If it wasn't partially installed already, I would send it all back.

  • I have the Model QTX 110 HL for about 6 years. The heat is has stopped working. How do I fix?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Have had the exact problem. Ours will is 6 years old this month. It is the heating element. Part number "97016565 Heating Element" Husband is in the process of working on it as I type. Not too difficult, just have to find the vendor with the part. Apparently, the heating elements don't last more than 6 years!

The heater on my qtx110hl-a blows cool air. What is wrong?

While running the heater on the QTX110HL-A unit, there was a spark from the heater. Then the heater would only blow cool air. Does the heater element need to be replaced? Does the replacement part come with instructions? The unit is only two years old.

Is there a separate switch for the light, the fan and the heater? I am wondering if you can just turn on the light or just turn on the fan or heater

Are there separate switches for each?
    Asked by: Anonymous
This unit requires 4 switches. There is a separate switch for the heater, exhaust, light, and night light. They come in different configurations. We use one that has 2 switchs vertically (like "normal") and 2 that are horizontal.

    replacing the heater element

Can anyone tell me how to go about replacing the heating element? It seems a lot less expensive than buying a whole new unit.
    Asked by: Anonymous
Pretty easy job... I've had to replace the heating element twice in the 9 years we've had this fan. Remove the bulb lens, and find the 2 screws that hold the cover assembly to the ceiling. Remove these 2 screws and the assembly will hang down about 12". Unplug the electrical connector (simple) and set the cover assembly aside (this is a great opportunity to give it a good cleaning!) Along the outer edge of the unit, there are 2 black screws about 4" apart. Remove these and unplug the heater blower assembly. Now you can work on the unit on a table. There are 2 screws on each side of the heating element. Remove these 4 screws and the element comes right out. Now simply replace the element and reverse the steps to reassemble the unit. Shouldn't take more than about 15 minutes. Good luck!
