Rated 5 out of 5 by so quiet. heat fan warms perfectly. the unit runs very quietly. on a few cold mornings this fall the heat fan was so very nice. I like that the light, night light, vent and heat are all in one unit. October 26, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Decent fan/light/heater combo, but not quiet I bought the more expensive model because I wanted a quiet unit. Our previous Broan model was loud, so I thought more money equals quieter operation. However, that's not true. While it may have run quieter during its first year, it's very loud now after only 2-1/2 years of use. And...the heater element just gave out, so I have to order a new one. I do have to say it does a good job of pulling out moist air and pumping in quite a bit of heat in a short time. September 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by has worked well for 6 1/2 years till heating element went out. And we did not use heating element that much. Overall rating is good product and would use again except disappointed with the heating unit. the vent is VERY QUIET and we like that very much. December 21, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great Fan but heater needs to be replaced yearly Good fan but I can not get a heating coil to last more than one year, Just bought a Panasonic to replace this unit. Thanks Joe Master Electrician October 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product with exhaust fan, heater and lights We installed a QTX110HL two years ago when we had our bathroom remodeled. It works great and we just had another one installed in our other bathroom since the existing fan did not remove the moisture effectively when showering. The new Broan QTX110HL is quieter, removes the moisture effectively (no more foggy mirror) and will keep us warm when winter comes. Great product. September 26, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Except for the damper, this fan is great This fan was used when I had my main bath renovated and I loved the quiet operation. When the fan in my master bath needed replacing, I purchased it on-line for my handyman to install. Great fan except the damper is made of plastic and has very flimsy pins on the flap to hold it in place. The pins were broken on the damper flap in the sealed box. My handyman couldn't complete the installation and now has to come back. I had a replacement damper sent and the pins are broken on that one too! I just called for a second replacement. NuTone - how could you engineer such a fragile part?? If it wasn't partially installed already, I would send it all back. May 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Heater/Exhaust Fan for Larger Bathroom We have this product in our larger master bath. We had it installed during the building of our house 6 years ago. The power of this unit does a good job warming the room. Do like the night light feature. The unit works extremely well. Our heating element just went out in that one, but we are replacing it for about $30. After looking around the web, apparently we are not the only ones who had the heating element go out after 6 years. This is an expensive product, so replacing a part for $30 sure beats replacing the entire unit. I do love this product and would not want to live without it! We have 2 of the 655 units in our two smaller bathrooms. They work extremely well. We also had them installed during the building of our home 6 years ago. They are still functioning just fine. Even though the smaller ones are without the nightlight feature, I would not recommend the larger (and much more expensive) unit for a small bathroom. It is not worth the extra money for a night light. Although they are a bit noisier, the 665 units provide plenty of power for a small bathroom. Very pleased with our choice of these products. Would not want to live without them! May 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love! Fabulous fan! Terrific for kids' bathroom as they for get to turn it on - does it by itself!! Will be installing in other bathrooms when the current ones die. Extremely quiet too!! February 20, 2013

4 heating elements replaced in 2 years!

Broan recommends secondary use of the heater, operating up to 20 minutes. Broan also discourages the use of a timing switch to control time-on of the heating element. Is $172 biannually standard maintenance? The last element replaced showed no visible signs of damage. The original element lasted 2 years. There has been no change in use of the heating unit. Help me understand this issue.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QTX110HFLT exhaust fan/heater/light/night light. The problem you are referring to could be a problem with the heater motor not blowing enough air over the heater element to keep it cooled down. The unit would have a three year warranty. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QTX110HL exhaust fan/heater/light/night light. To remove the light lens, insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot at one end of the light lens and carefully pry the lens out of the grille.

I am interested in this unit for my bathroom. I would like to know if I can integrate a thermostat to control the temperature while the heater is on (I intend to install the recommended 4-function switch if I purchase the unit).
