What are the differences between the QTX110HFLT and QTX110HL?
It seems that the HL is $100 less expensive but I can't figure out why.

Thank you for your question on the QTX110HFLT and QTX110HL. The difference between these two units is that the 110HL uses two incandescent lamps (up to 60 watts maximum) and the 110HFLT uses two fluorescent lamps (up to 18 watts maximum).

    Answer:
Have had the exact problem. Ours will is 6 years old this month. It is the heating element. Part number "97016565 Heating Element" Husband is in the process of working on it as I type. Not too difficult, just have to find the vendor with the part.

Apparently, the heating elements don't last more than 6 years!

    Answer:
Thank you for your question. The QTX110HL is a 4-function ceiling unit, providing heat, vent, light and night light. All 4 functions can be switched separately or several at once, if desired. The Broan-Nutone switch, model 77DW is a 4-function, single “gang” wall switch which can be installed to accomplish this.

    Answer:
This unit requires 4 switches. There is a separate switch for the heater, exhaust, light, and night light. They come in different configurations. We use one that has 2 switchs vertically (like "normal") and 2 that are horizontal.
