I read reviews from 2013 where people complained about the lights behind the vents. In the pics I have seen, the lights are in the front. Has the model been changed?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model EW5830SS range hood. The duct work that goes up through the decorative flue is not connected to the wall. You can download the installation instructions from our web site if needed.

model EW58: what does it mean "works with Broan Automatic Make-up Air dampers"

    Customer avatar
    by
    brian
    Wisconsin, USA
Does this mean that I have to buy or do something in addition to having the unit installed? I am replacing an old custom Wooden hood that was mounted to the header that the current kitchen cabinets are mounted to on either side of the old range hood, which was vented straight up and out of the house.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the Broan EW5830SS and make up air dampers. Make up air is needed in many new homes today because they are built so air tight. Whatever amount of air you remove from the room has to be made up or returned back into the room. Whether or not make up air is required is a local code issue. Please check with your local building inspector to see if this is required in your area.
