    Answer:
Thank you for your question. As you probably realize, the model 670 is made to used with 3" ducting. If you used the recommended 3" rigid duct, you can expect to achieve the rated CFM, if you keep the duct at approximately 13 feet. Each 90 degree 3" elbow is equivalent to 3 linear feet and is not considered in this figure. Please contact our Technical support group at 800-637-1453, if you intend to use a non specified size of duct.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 689 exhaust fan. The 689 is designed for an interior room of approximately 55 square feet with an eight foot ceiling. It will vent a larger room but not very efficiently and would not usually be recommended for a garage.

I have a Broan 671 fan installed in a Broan 663 housing; both are 8" X 8.25". The new model 671 is 7" X 7.25". What model can I use to install a new fan in the existing housing? These fans are many years old, perhaps from 1978 house construction!

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on exhaust fans. The only parts we can recommend for a specific model are the original replacement parts for that model. You can go to the “Shop for Parts” link at the top of our web site page to see the parts available for your specific model. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 688 exhaust fan. The 688 will handle up to 13 feet of three inch straight rigid duct work. You need to reduce that distance by three feet for every elbow. Flexible duct work, smaller diameter duct, or longer length of duct work can reduce the amount of CFM that you get out of this fan.
