Can I keep my housing, mounting bracket, and fan and just get a different fan motor to go with them? Is there one that is the same size that is a little more quiet and/or powerful? Thanks.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the Broan model 688. We do have replacement parts available for this model if you are interested in repairing it. We do also have the model 690 upgrade kit available. This will increase your cfm's from 50 to 60 and also lower the sones from 4.0 to 3.0. You can view and order the 690 upgrade kit or replacement parts on the Broan website or by contacting customer service at 800-558-1711.

I want to upgrade to the quietest fan that will fit the existing box. Is there one that I could add a light to.

Is there a grille that is a little bigger that will fit the 688? Had it installed but the grille didn't quite cover up the entire opening in the ceiling.

Thank you for your question on the model 688 exhaust fan. The only parts available for the 688 would be the original replacement parts. You will need to patch the opening in the ceiling.
