  • RMIP33 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good replacement insert. I replaced an old painted Broan powered insert with this fanless one and installed a remote fan. The result is a much quieter and higher volume installation. The design seems well thought out and easy to work on if a switch or fan speed control fails in the future. Don't forget to order the blower or rough-in kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product, quite, effective This unit was not originally offered to me, but prior experience with Broan products caused me to ask if an appropriate Broan exhaust could be ordered. It cost less than the other brands offered and has proven to be an excellent investment after 4+ years. I am sure I will get many more years of service from this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look for money This hood works great in our application with a 1200cfm external blower. Really pulls smoke and odors out of the kitchen.

  • The p5 blower will be good inside the RMIP33? I am getting a custom hood built to replace a microwave vented to the outside over the cooktop.

Cook top is a 36 inch 6 burner kitchen aid .
    Asked by: calimom61
Thank you for your question on the RMIP33 and P5 blower. Yes, the P5 is compatible with the RMIP33 insert. To determine how many cfm’s that your range hood should be, you will need to know the total number of BTU’s from your stove. Add up the number of BTU’s from all the burners and divide the total by 100. The result will give you the minimum number of cfm’s that you need to properly ventilate your stove. Add 200 cfm’s for any grille or griddle. This is the best place to start when searching for the proper range hood/blower size.

What could be the problem as our motors shut off for no apparent reason?

    Asked by: lou
Thank you for your question on the model number RWIP33 range hood insert. The motor has a thermal overload which will automatically shut off the motor if it becomes overheated. The motor will restart when it cools down. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

    What is max height?

min height is given at 24". Is there a max. height? If so, what is it? Can you go as high as 40 or 42" above cook surface? If so, what cfm effect?
    Asked by: JoeM
Thank you for your question on the RMIP33. The recommended, optimum distance between the bottom of this unit and the top of the cooking surface is between 24” and 30”. If the distance is increased over the 30”, you will start losing the ability to capture the maximum amount of cooking smoke, steam and odors.

Will the RMIP33 Insert interface with other brand in-line blowers regarding varying the blower speed?

Your in-line blowers require a 10" duct and I simply don't have the room to accommodate the 10" duct or your blower size.
    Asked by: Joe
Thank you for your question on the model RMIP33 kitchen exhaust system. To reduce the risk of fire and electrical shock, the RMIP33 must be installed only with Broan interior blower models P5 or P8; Broan exterior models 331H, 332H, 335 or 336; Broan in-line blowers models HLB3, HLB6, HLB9, HLB11. Other blowers cannot be substituted.

We only have 1 unit that meets all of your requirements. It is model CP34I429B. The hood comes with its own liner so no additional liner would be needed. You can view it on our website www.bestrangehoods.com.
