  • Roof matching domes means ventilation is less noticeable.

Too often, attic ventilation is overlooked, not to mention ignored as a place for energy savings. That's where BROAN solutions make sense. Consider this: air trapped in your attic can easily reach 150 degrees or more. With BROAN ventilation solutions, it's still a full 60 degrees cooler in the attic on a 90 degree day. That's why attic ventilation is critical to making any home more comfortable while lowering energy costs. Air conditioners can run less and won't have to work as hard. Humid, stagnant air can be removed, drawing fresh dry air across the surfaces. Your attic can be drier and cooler - the perfect tools to help fight potential moisture damage.

Each PVC dome is available in three popular performance ratings along with two metal dome models. Select one that best suits the attic size and shingle color.

Solar Powered Attic Ventilation - Pittsburgh Today - Live KDKA TV

  • Effective attic ventilation requires air to exit at or near the peak of the roof and replacement air to be drawn in under the eaves of the house, via soffit venting. The Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) recommends that powered attic ventilators provide at least 10 air changes per hour to equalize attic temperature.

I have a metal building with a 14" Round metal chase (tube) that I would like to replace the wind turbine with the ventilator. I can have any metal fabricated to achieve this. The fan blades need to fit into or just under the metal chase. The metal building is a curved shape like the old military Quonset hut with ribs. So I can't disturb the turbine base. I can take photos of the exterior and interior if you think it is necessary. I really want to solve the heat 110-15F problem using your product.

    Thanks for your time. Kirk

I installed 2 new fans a couple years ago. One kicks on, but I've yet to see the other one go on. Hopefully, it's just the thermostat and I would like to make sure the fan works. No bottom access, so I need to go on the roof. Opened it up, but looks like thermostat is facing down. Is there a quick way to adjust thermostat wo taking the fan out of the housing?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question. There should be a slot or hole in the thermostat box, in which you can insert a small bladed screwdriver to adjust the thermostat setting. Unfortunately, it sounds as if this adjustment hole may be facing the attic side. If you think that the Technical Support group could help, they may be reached at 800-637-1453.

What is causing by 350 attic fan to squeak?

Model 350 attic ventilator has started making a loud squeaking noise. Can I stop it by lubricating the motor? If so, how? Also, when I turn temperture controller to max, 130, I hear a click. It sounds like it is turning the fan off. I want it off because of the noise. Is it turned off by turning the knob until I hear the click?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 350BK roof mounted attic fan. You would need to replace the motor because there are no oil ports and the motors are lifetime lubricated. The squeaking is probably from the worn motor bearings. The part number for the motor is 97009316 and can be purchased through the “Shop for Parts” link at the top of our web site page.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 353 gable mounted attic ventilation fan. The thermostat can be adjusted from 75 to 135 degrees Fahrenheit and there is approximately 10 degree variance from the fan turning on and off.
