  • This patent-pending series marks a revolution of our mid-range ventilation fans. It gives professionals the flexibility to handle new construction or room-side retrofit installations from one hard-working product line with a full range of operating points. Innovations include foldable mounting ears and new damper and housing technology that improve building airtightness like never before. And all with new grille designs that are at home in any decor.

    • 80 CFM reduces humidity to quickly eliminate fogged mirrors and manage moisture in bathrooms up to 75 square feet, so your vision will always be clear and your surroundings will always be comfortable
    • Retrofit installations can be done entirely from the room-side – no attic access required. This means a faster, easier installation, so you can move on to something else
    • With our TrueSeal™ Damper Technology, InVent fans reduce air leakage by up to Fifty Percent* compared to competitive models, resulting in better home performance via blower door tests and reducing cold and warm air backdrafts
    • EzDuct™ Connector can be installed room-side with no attic access required, fan housing connection have never been easier
    • UL Listed for use over tubs and showers with a GFCI circuit; so you can capture the steam before it spreads throughout the room by locating your fan exactly where you need it the most
    • With our TrueSeal™ Damper Technology, InVent fans reduce air leakage by up to 50% compared to competitive models, resulting in better home performance via blower door tests.*

*Testing reflects total fan housing airtightness. See broan.com/invent for more details.

  • AR80X is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Improvement over earlier models This unit goes in quick, and has decent specs. While not as quiet as the pricier Panasonic units, it does the job nicely. I found just a little confusion on the removal of the wiring pocket inside the unit. A little better explanation could help here. Other than that, a good unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from too loud its rated a 2 on noise level but it is loud. Not sure why something like this is even made. It does work well as far as sucking air out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent replacement fan. This is the only exhaust fan that I could find that is designed as a replacement when you do not have attic access for connecting to the exhaust conduit. Not an easy retro-fit, but doable.

  • why doesn't the backdraft damper close all the way?

The flap stays about 50% open.
    Asked by: Steve
Thank you for your question regarding the AR80X exhaust fan. The backdraft damper on this unit stays slightly open to keep the temperature of your duct more line with the temperature of your bathroom. This prevents condensation and moisture from forming inside your duct work. In the event of airflow into your duct, this door would close, preventing air from blowing into your bathroom. If you have any further questions about the operation of this fan, please call Technical Support at 1-800-637-1453.
