not worth the money
Expected more from Broan in this price range. The unit is not square and must be shimmed down at the front so it sits level and the backdraft damper functions properly. There is a 1/8" gap between the side panel and the bottom panel, probably due to poor stamping. Also, at higher(and much noisier) speeds, air comes out of the vents at the top of the unit instead of all going out through the duct. This is probably because the plate changing from recirculating to ducted installation is a fair amount smaller than the opening it is intended to block. So no, I would not recommend this product.

Great Product for the Price
I am very pleased with this model. I chose this model primarily for the quality and price. I did not want a hood that had a lot of features or that had the automatic fan option. I read many reviews saying that the automatic fan was more annoying than helpful. This one looks nice. I like the paddle switches; was afraid of the electronic push buttons on other models (one more thing to go wrong). The night light is just that, a night light. The other light is very bright. Easy to install and I'm not a professional. The 2 fan speeds are sufficient. The high speed is not near as loud as our previous vent hood. I have used it for a little over a month now. No problems.

Will a 6" vertical duct suffice as opposed to the spec'd 7" duct for the hood? I don't have any room in my chase wall for a 7" duct
Thank you for your question on the QSE130WW range hood. We do recommend 3 1/4" x 10" or 7" round duct on this hood. You may be able to use a 6" duct size if you are only going a very short distance, but the sound level may be increased. For more assistance, please contact Technical Support at 1-800-637-1453.

Why do you not publish the under counter specs?
I have older 12" cabinets instead of the customary 15", and need to know the under cabinet dimensions of the hood to know if I can use it.
Thank you for your question on the QSE130SS range hood. The specification sheet for this model is located on our website under this product detail. The top of the hood measures 12". Most of our hoods have this 12" measurement. Please see picture attached for specifications. If you need more assistance, please contact our Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453.
