    Rated 4 out of 5 by Filters steam, smoke, and cooking odor very well, and filters are easy to remove and clean. This hood looks fantastic and is easy to wipe clean even though it is stainless. We had to have an outlet installed because our old hood was hard-wired, but rest of installation was easy enough for us to do. February 20, 2013

    Custom Installation Height

    I have an 8 ft ceiling on the first floor and the current hood is mounted on a soffet 12" down from the ceiling with a 6" duct to outside. I want approximately 30" over the cooktop which is 36" high. Can the EI5936SS hood be supplied to mount on the duct?

    Thank you for your question on the EI5936SS range hood. The minimum space needed for this hood is 30.5 inches and it is designed to be used with an eight or nine foot ceiling. If your cook top is 36 inches high and you had a full eight foot ceiling to work with, the bottom of the range hood would be 29.5 inches above the cook top. We do not make this model in any shorter version.

    Thank you for your question on the model EI5936SS range hood. The EI5936SS can be installed on an eight or nine foot ceiling, and there is an optional extension for installations on nine to ten foot ceilings. However, there is nothing available for ceilings above ten feet.
