How far out does back of exhaust start from rear on optional internal exhaust? Will this be under my cabinet door? It looks like it is twelve inches out and two inches wide. Will this exhaust air onto my bottom of door creating dirt?
Thank you for your question on the BCDJ136BL range hood. From the back edge of the start of the louvers for non-ducted, it would measure 12-3/4". This measurement is from the back edge of the hood to the back edge start of the louver.

Overview on this model says: "Broan Heat Sentry™ detects excessive heat and adjusts the blower speed to prolong the life of the product and provide proper ventilation."
Question: Will this Heat Sentry TURN ITSELF ON when it detects heat, say from the oven; OR will it simply INCREASE the blower speed when I am using the fan/blower?
I have read reviews where on other Broan hoods that TURN THE FAN ON by themselves have driven users crazy, to the point where many remove the hood and disable the feature, voiding their warranty.
I do not want to disable anything, don't want to void my warranty and since I am paying a contractor to install this stove hood, I want to make sure the Heat Sentry feature will not TURN ITSELF ON when it detects heat from the oven below, when no one is using the cooktop.
Many thanks for a clear and concise response.
Thank you for your question on the Broan BCDJ130SS. The heat sensor on this unit will turn the unit on if the unit was off and it detects excessive heat. The heat sensor will also turn your blower speed higher if the blower wasn't ventilating fast enough and the heat sensor detected excessive heat. The heat sensor is a safety device in your unit. To prevent the heat sensor from coming on you need to turn the exhaust fan on the range hood. This will get rid of the heat build up inside the unit. I hope this helps and if you have further questions please call Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453.
