Rated 4 out of 5 by Ductless Installation The product was easy to install and works but I had anticipated being able to use the full CFM capabilities. Since I installed it as ductless you can't use all four fan settings just 1 and 2. So it is overkill in my situation. Looks great and works fine on the first two settings but I didn't need to spend the extra for the added CFM I'll never use. Should be made much clearer. The lighting is particularly good. Rated 4 out of 5 by Would be 5 Stars EXCEPT THE DAMPER IS NOISY!!!! I also purchased the 7" round damper with foam, BUT IT IS STILL NOISY!!! However, he range hood is great. May 15, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not easy to install. Lighting is great. Steam and smoke removal best on left side of stove. Overall the product is good. I had a professional electrician do the removal of the old hood and installation of the Broan. He and his helper carefully followed all the directions and remarked that it was not a simple installation. When it was complete, the test revealed a problem with the fan. The hood had to be completely removed, and it was found that the fan housing was loose on its plate. The electrician had to disassemble the fan unit (which was supposed to be installed as is) and tighten the bolts on the housing, then reinstall the hood. This added about an hour to the time and cost me more than should have been. I think the lights work very well, but on fan speed 2 there is no air flow into the hood from the right side of the stove which is where the burner I use most is located. Time will tell if this will be a problem. April 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quiet, efficient Other than the fact that the fan speeds below high wouldn't work when we first purchased the vent, the vent has been great. Broan paid for an electrician to fix the problem. April 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Worked great until it didn't I installed my Allure QS3 approximately 11 years ago, and it ran flawlessly until this week. I came home after a cleaning service had just cleaned the kitchen to find that the unit wasn't working properly. Neither the lights or the fan would run when I pressed the key-pad, although the fan setting LEDs did light up. I jumped on the Broan website and downloaded the installation manual which said this was the classic example of blown fuse--Great, I thought, that should be easy to fix. So, I run out and purchase a box of fuses and take the unit apart. oddly the exploded view didn't show where the fuse was located but based upon the description I expected it to be on the control board. When I got inside the unit though, no fuse or fuse holder anywhere? Once again I returned to the internet, and found a forum discussion about this where others also found there wasn't a fuse. Presumably Broan may have added this functionality in later years? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, now I have a decision, replace the control board or replace the whole unit. Btw, I also installed this unit, as a top-ducted installation, and as I recall configuring it to vent with a rectangular duct out the top required a fair amount of retrofitting and ingenuity. Once installed, however, I loved this unit. very quiet ,yet powerful and up until now dependable. April 16, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs improvement The good: Quiet at speeds 1 & 2. Shape looks nice. Like the delay shut-off. The bad: Very uneven suction. Poor suction on right side, poor suction on front burners. The suction fan located on the left rear of the hood, so most of the air gets sucked in there. The shape of the front of the hood does not encourage smoke/grease from the front burners to flow back toward the fan. Instead it goes strait up into the kitchen. The slits on top of the hood allow some of the exhaust to be blown back into the kitchen. I had to tape mine shut. February 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Oh so Quiet! Love how quiet it is and because it is so love the delay feature so I don't forget to turn it off. November 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very pleased. I am very pleased with the range hood. Looks good, too. February 6, 2015

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QS330WW range hood. The QS330WW can be installed as a non-ducted unit. In the non-ducted configuration you would use the optional charcoal filters along with the aluminum mesh grease filters. The grease filter will help collect some of the grease from the air and the charcoal filter will help reduce the odors, but the hood will still send the air back into the room. The only way to completely remove the greasy, moisture and odor filled air is to vent the hood to the outside.

Power to unit OK & fuse seems OK ( a couple of ohms). Is it the control unit or could it be something more simple?

Thank you for your question on the model QS330BL range hood. From your description, if power is getting to the range hood, it would appear that the control unit is defective. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QS330SS range hood. Venting vertically or horizontally makes no significant difference as long as the duct work is within the guidelines of what the hood can handle. That being said, the absolute maximum efficiency would be venting horizontally out the back directly through the wall. The QS3 and CJD series range hoods do not use the same motor. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

Thank you for your question on the model QS330SS and the QP330SS range hoods. The QP330SS has more features than the QS330SS including 4 lights vs 2 lights, an improved filter system, an LED clock timer and optional remote control. The spec sheets for both models are available for download from our web site. You can compare them to see all of the differences. Vent Hood Issues

     on QS336BL
When my neighbor's contractor laid out her kitchen cabinets he measured incorrectly. There is a 2x4 stud on the right side of the 3-1/4 x 10 inch opening. The contractor wants to install a vertical vent through the cabinets above the stove hood, this is not the option the homeowner wants. Is there a hood with a horizontal duct vent less than 3-1/4x10 inches, or a vent hood with a duct discharge that could be shifted to the accommodate the available opening.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on range hoods. All of the range hoods that would vent horizontally would require at least 3-1/4” x 10” rectangular duct work. Some of the range hoods do have an adjustment of up to one inch side-to-side for the installation of the damper duct connector. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.
