Rated 4 out of 5 by from May need to be installed upside down I have an island kitchen stove. If this blower is installed at ground level to the outside of a house it has a ground clearance issue and may need to be installed upside down. I had to fabricate a hood on the exhaust outlet to make it weatherproof. The hood is made of stainless steel so now it looks and works great.

  • Is the 332H blower compatible with Zephyr EALE42ASX island hood?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question regarding the 332H external blower. We test our blowers for use with our products only. We do not know if this blower will work with other brands or if there will be complications with operation or installation. If this blower was used with a third party range hood, you would void the warranty of the blower and possibly the warranty on the third party product. I would contact Zephyr to see what blowers they recommend for their products.

which island hood is compatible with this exterior blower?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on model 332H external power unit. The model 637004EX is an "island" style hood, that may be used with the 332H. You may view this range hood on our website at www.Broan.com.

Will the blower damage the siding?

Will the blown-out greasy smoke pollute the siding of the house? How to prevent this issue?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model 332H exterior exhaust fan. It is possible that you would have some sort of grease and dirt buildup on the siding of the house. The range hood would normally capture most of the grease from cooking, but there would be some that would make it through the exhaust system. There is no way to prevent this and depending on the amount of greasy cooking that is done, you would probably only need to clean the siding once or twice a year. Can you vent this unit down and install the 332H in a large crawl space?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model 332H exterior mounted exhaust fan. The 332H is designed to be mounted outside only and is not designed to be installed in a crawl space.

    332H vs 335

For a 36in gas cooktop, what's the recommendation, 335 or 332H? One thing I noticed is that, although 335 is 1200 CFM vs 900CFM for 332H, 335's rated amps is 3.0, which is lower than 332H (rated amps 5.8). Why 332H has higher rated amps? What does "H" mean, for 332H?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model 332H and 335 exterior mounted exhaust fans. When sizing a fan for a kitchen you need to know the BTU rating of the range. You need a minimum of 1 CFM for every 100 BTU. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.
