  • Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 50 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Well built, good value All exposed surfaces are nicely finished. No sharp edges, and I appreciate the rounded profile that spreads the force when I bump my head on it. The blower very effectively captures the smoke and odor from stir-frying at 22,000 BTUs. As expected, there is a lot of air noise at 600 cfm as the air rushes through the baffles and into the internal blower. At low speed, the predominant noise is a hum (almost a buzz) from the variable-frequency motor and controller. Much quieter than at high speed, but still annoying over time, say when simmering a soup. The controls are the weakest point. A three-position rocker switch for the lights would make a lot more sense than a three position knob that I often twist the wrong direction. Also, the low setting is pretty much useless with LED lights because they flicker very perceptibly. Something more sophisticated than a diode to chop out half of the AC cycle would be appreciated. Both the light and fan knobs feel a little cheap. Customer service was very responsive when I had questions. May 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent hood for large range This hood draws well even when using a Wolf range with a grill. The hood is very loud at the highest setting, but a variable speed control allows you to set the draw at the lowest effective level. The two level lights illuminate the range top well. Simple clean design esthetic. May 11, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not really good I install the vent, but braket to hold the vent it's not hold strong, I feel it's should be full off. April 29, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by It is a high quality product Well built and strong air volume when needed. Lights are nice and bright. I wish it came with a built in cleaner though! April 26, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by EAR PLUGS looks great, easy installation, the only problem I see so far is that unfortunately the fan is way to loud. We had done some research on the appliance, and most said the fan was pretty quit, well it is way to loud. I WISH I WOULD HAVE PUT A REMOTE FAN IN MY ATTACK, AND HAVE IT DUCT TO THE UNIT November 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful, professional-looking hood! I wanted a professional looking hood but needed a recirculating option as I didn't have a way to vent the hood outside. Broan offered that option. The hood is awesome! It's effective at removing smoke and odor, isn't terribly loud and looks great. Very pleased with my purchase. My contractor installed the hood so I'm uncertain as to the ease of installation. October 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is a great product with great features. This product work great with the heat and odors being removed. There is only one thing wrong and that is that it resonates. With a little extra padding this stops the resonating. The fan speed is variable which works great if you only need it on low. There are two light features and with both on they put out a lot of light. The filters are easy to remove for cleaning and they go back in just as easy. July 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Installation was a breeze. After moving the electrical to the proper location on the wall, I added wood to the underside of the cabinet it was to be mounted under. Had my son and his friend hold the hood in place while I secured the hood with eight screws to the cabinet above. Most of my time spent was on the prep work and then installing the duct work after. Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model E6448TSS range hood. The E6448TSS comes with a 1200 CFM internal blower only. It can be installed either ducted to the outside or non-ducted using the optional model ANKE60482SS non-duct kit. The model E64E48SS is a similar hood that does not come with an internal power unit and can use a number of different in-line or externally mounted blowers. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model E6436SS range hood. The E6436SS requires the use of 120 volt, 50 watt maximum, MR16 with GU10 base or PAR16 with GU10 base, shielded halogen lamps. We recommend that you use only the type of bulb recommended for your range hood. Please note that using a replacement LED bulb does not void the warranty of the range hood, however we cannot guarantee the operation of the LED bulbs. The increased heat from the stove or cooktop can very well shorten the lifespan of these bulbs and current LED replacement bulbs are not necessarily designed to work properly with the type of controls in many range hoods. Off-the-shelf LED bulbs do not work properly when combined with hoods that have “mechanical” controls (rockers, rotary, pushbutton) with multiple light levels. The result can range from lower light levels to flickering lights or even no light at all. Sometimes the LED replacement may not go off, staying on at a very low level even when the switch is off.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model E6430SS range hood. To remove the bulbs you would gently push upwards and turn counterclockwise to disengage the bulb leads from the grooves. If need be, you can try using a rubber diswashing glove or rubber jar opener to add grip when removing the bulb. If you have more questions, please contact Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453. Thank you.

Is it possible to use xenon bulbs with E6430? With the same base and energy requirement/usage, it seems they would be a good substitute. Thanks!

Loud pitch noise from fan motor at high speeds - E6436SS

    Customer avatar

     on E6436SS
The fan motor is making loud pitch screeching noise as the variable speed is increased. Gets worse as it increases.
I have to turn the knob on the variable speed to the lowest level to avoid the noise. I checked to see if the rotating fan was loose but everything is secured.
    What can this be?
