Rated 2 out of 5 by from Measure early!! We have a Broan QP430SS hood and chose the SP3004 stainless steel panel to have a matching stainless steel backsplash below the hood and behind the cooktop. We wanted a backsplash that was easy to clean and without grout lines. We chose a CaesarStone quartz countertop and we chose a cooktop with wall oven (to place oven away from cooktop which is opposite dishwasher). The 24" height of the stainless steel panel may be long enough to go from under hood to behind the top of a range, but with a cooktop mounted in the counter the 24" height was too short, so we decided to have a 4 3/4" backsplash of the CaesarStone all around to make stainless steel panel fit (and also to be able to mount outlets in CaesarStone backsplash instead of cutting them into the glass tile) Countertops, backsplash, and Broan QP430SS were all installed before the SP3004 stainless steel panel. Not sure if it was the vent hood specs that were off or if the SP3004 was a fraction longer than 24", but it didn't fit in the space that it should have & kitchen contractor had to send the panel out to be cut down to fit. Stainless steel matches the stainless steel of the hood, but is not finger-print proof and is a bit tricky to keep looking nice. I like the concept, but our kitchen contractors had some trouble mounting the panel (not smoothly and flatly adhered to surface) that they tried to fix. I also wish that the panel came in a longer length to accommodate folks who want to use it as backsplash between counter-mounted cooktop and vent hood instead of behind a range.

  • I'm interested in the SP3004 Stainless Steel backsplash. What kind of edging does this product have? Is it a "hemmed" or "rolled" finished edge?

    Asked by: Anonymous
As much as I can tell it is neither Hemmed to me means an amount folder under -- no Rolled to me means rounded -- not really As best as I can tell edges are a nicely finished square edge Our panel is installed flush below a QP430SS vent hood, flush on the sides between cabinets on top and glass tile below, and sits on top of CaesarStone backsplash (needed because we have cooktop and not a range)

What is the difference between the "EP" and the "SP" backsplashes?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the Broan backsplashes. The 'SP' is a single back splash. The 'EP' is bulk pack quantity purchased by our distributors.

Is this product safe behind an electric range?

Will it be safe with the heat from the oven and self cleaning if it is installed directly behind the oven on the wall?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model EP300223 back splash plate. This unit is designed to go on the wall, from the bottom of the range hood, to somewhat below the top of the range. There should be no problem with any heat that comes from the range or oven.

Can this aluminum panel or the stainless steel one be cut to a smaller length like 27 in ? If so, what kind of cutting tool would be best?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on backsplash model SP300108. We do not recommend cutting these panels; however, there is a smaller 24” model available in the same finish as the one you refer to. Model SP240108 is a 24” wide version and comes in the reversible white/almond finish.
