  • Designed specifically to be compatible with most conventional and commercial style cooktops, combines a sensational appearance with high performance features. The compact design is installed directly behind the cooktop for an unobtrusive appearance, while the thin profile saves precious space under the cabinet (not for installation behind ovens). Choose from Exterior or In-Line blower options (sold separately).

    • Dishwasher-safe filters are easy to remove and feature a stylish brushed stainless steel appearance for a professional look
    • Unique ducting capability allows the remote, external blower connection to be ducted to the left, right or downward (from left to right)
    • Heat Sentry adjusts speed of blower to high automatically in case of excess heat, to prolong product life
    • Your choice of exterior blowers ranging from 600 to 1500 CFM or In-Line blowers from 280 to 1100 CFM (blower required and sold separately)
    • Compatible with optional Broan Make-up Air Dampers (MD6TU or MD8TU, sold separately) to fit 6" or 8" ducting and help to balance the air pressure when the range hood is in use, keeping your environment comfortable

There are numerous in-line and externally mounted blowers available for use with this unit and the speeds are variable. You can view all the blower options in the installation instructions for the downdraft unit. They are printed on the top of the installation instructions.     Thank you for your question on the model RMDD3004EX down draft kitchen exhaust system. The RMDD3004EX is designed to only be installed with a drop in cook top. The RMDD3004EX cannot be installed properly behind a slide in range because the RMDD housing will interfere with the bottom part of the range.     Thank you for your question on the model RMDD3604EX down draft kitchen ventilation system. An in-line fan is a fan that is mounted inside of an attic or crawl space and is “in-line” with the duct work. The duct work goes from the RMDD3604EX to the in-line fan, then out of the fan to an exterior roof or wall cap. An external blower gets mounted on the roof or exterior wall of the house.
