  • The AP1 series is part of BROAN's newest pro-style undercabinet hood collection, uniting stylish appearance with tremendous value. The deep 9 in. height provides excellent capture of cooking grease and odor, whether vented to the exterior, or installed to recirculate air through optional charcoal filters. Optional non-duct recirculation kit available with charcoal filters sold separately.

    • Concealed variable speed control with last setting memory means the hood is set for the next time you cook your favorite dish
    • 440 CFM at 7.0 Sones on high setting, 120 CFM at 0.5 Sones on low setting
    • Two halogen lamps (designed for bulbs up to 50 W, GU10 bulbs purchase separately) light up the cooktop and surrounding area. Two-level light control gives you unmatched visibility
    • Mesh grease filters with Antimicrobial Protection are dishwasher-safe. The coating inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria and protects the filter so it stays cleaner in between cleanings. Your kitchen stays fresher longer
    • Optional Non-Duct Recirculation Kit NDK35830BL for installations where ducting to the exterior is not possible
    • Heat Sentry™ is a smart feature that detects excessive heat and adjusts speed to high automatically to prolong product life
    • Non-Duct Filter 88F required for non-ducted installations, purchased separately

    Answer:
Thank you for your question. The current consumption on both of these models is 1.9 amps; therefore the energy usage is the same. The main differences are that the RP1 incorporates a 2 speed rocker switch, where the AP1 has a variable speed control. The AP1 is also capable of having a non-duct kit installed on it, where as the RP1 is not.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the Broan model AP136SS range hood. We cannot recommend using an LED bulb with this range hood. It will not function properly and will not last very long. We can only recommend using two 50 watt (or less), GU10 halogen bulbs.

Thank you for your question on the model AP130SS range hood. We only recommend venting the range hood completely outside. We do not recommend venting into the garage.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model AP136SS range hood. To remove the bulb you would push in on the bulb and turn it approximately ½ inch counterclockwise. The bulb should drop out of the socket. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question regarding the AP1 range hood installation height. The maximum height sometimes depends on a cook top manufacturers dictates but we suggest the maximum height for good capture of impurities should be no more than 30" above the burners. If you have more questions, contact the Technical Support Department at 800-637-1453.
