Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic fan & light We originally were looking for a fan with a little more suction power, but with county codes and regulations, we realized we'd have to install an input damper and some miscellaneous other things in our new house. We chose to go with this one because it was just below the code limit for those changes and, honestly, we are completely happy with this one! We rarely use the fan or light above the first setting, and when we've forgotten to turn it on, it's auto-on feature has done our job for us. When it is on, you can barely tell - it's not a typical yell-at-your-counterpart-over-the-fan-noise fan. ;) The only downside to this is the cost and slight difficulty to replace the halogen bulbs. I wish they were LED. Great buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features at a good price point. I researched the heck out of range hoods before selecting this one from Broan. It was a mid-range model for a modest kitchen upgrade we were doing but it had top of the line features. Three speed quiet exhaust, four bulb illumination with theatrical fade and a sleek profile. Perfect for our needs. There are more deluxe models available but if you research, this model is available a some sharply reduced prices.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would never recommend this product for a non-duct installation. Had this hood installed in a non-duct installation. The steam from pots on the stove are not drawn into the hood. I put a small piece of napkin against the intake and it fell off. It appears the vents on top are to small and static pressure builds ups preventing the fan from drawing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This beat the builder grade vent hood that it replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, works great! The is a great addition to our kitchen facelift-changed to all stainless steel appliances so we needed to replace an older broan that was white but still worked great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish & quiet Love having 3 different light & fan levels, nice and bright. Looks great with my new remodeled kitchen. I would recommend this range hood to anyone looking for an exceptional product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average for price For the price, this model is a moderate option. It is the 2nd unit Ive had, as the first one broke in the first 2 months. The replacement is not that strong and rattles a lot. I recommend buying a higher priced model, as the low cost model is not very high quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value, is effective and quiet We chose the QP230SS because of its positive reviews. I was tired of having to air my clothes out because the smell from the previous night's dinner (especially when we cooked fish or anything fried) would permeate my closet. Despite our kitchen's small size, I'm glad we made the decision to exchange our over-the-range microwave with this range hood. It really is quiet, and although we still need to close the kitchen doors when frying, it is, for the most part, very effective. We have a tile backsplash, and chose to install Broan's stainless steel backsplash to cover the area between the oven and the bottom of the range hood. Gorgeous? No. Acceptable? Yes.

How do I turn the lights off of the QP236Ss?

I have owned this unit installed for over 3 years hooked up to spec by certified electrician with original lamps. I can not get the light switch to turn the lights off. I checked the fuse and it is not blown or looks "burned" in any way. I have been satisfied otherwise.
    Asked by: Grahamprofound
I routed this issue to the technical support division at Broan. I explained the circumstances and they sent out a new main circuit board and switch control board. I replaced both in about 45 min. This resolved the issue. Thank you for your customer service and assistance. Grahamprofound

How do you change out the lights?!?

    Asked by: Frustrated
Thank you for your question on the Broan QP236BL Range Hood. The suction cup that came with your hood can make installation and removal of bulbs easier. To remove bulb take suction cup and stick onto bulb. Turn counter clockwise a 1/4 of a turn and pull down. To install, align pins on bulb with large diameter opening on socket, then push bulb in towards hood and rotate clockwise until firmly seated. If you have further question please contact Technical Support directly ay 800-637-1453.
