To learn more about this revolutionary new product and how you can install it up to 60% faster in retrofits and up to 20% faster in new construction, CLICK HERE.

BROAN ULTRA™ Series Fans deliver everything you wished for in a bath fan – premium ventilation to help reduce airborne pollutants, extremely quiet operation, energy efficiency, consistent power and most impressively, the fastest, easiest, most universal installation available. These fans are ideal for both spot ventilation in humid bathrooms, as well as continuous ventilation to meet various building codes and Green Building standards around the United States.

    • 50 CFM reduces humidity to quickly eliminate fogged mirrors and manage moisture in bathrooms up to 45 square feet, so your vision will always be clear and your surroundings will always be comfortable
    • ULTRASilent™ with QStream™ Sound Technology results in operation at less than 0.3 Sones – the quietest sound rating attainable -- for an environment that is so quiet, you’ll likely forget the fan is on
    • ULTRALucent™ Lighting Technology provides 36 watt lights (two 18-watt bulbs included) delivering the brightness (measured in lumens) of models previously requiring 60 watts of CFL output – You get the best of both worlds; clear, even lighting with no hot spots and smaller energy bills
    • ULTRAQuick™ Installation Technology uses an exclusive telescoping mounting frame with pre-installed screws, snap-in housing, snap-in blower and an inside-out mounting duct connector making installation up to 60% faster in retrofits and up to 20% faster in new construction, saving you time, money and aggravation
    • Retrofit installations can be done entirely from the room-side – no attic access required. This means a faster, easier installation so you can move on to something else
    • Unique telescoping mounting frame can be placed and fastened through drywall hole because it expands from 14” to 24” and fits any type of joist, I-Joist or truss construction for a “no guesswork” installation to make the work fast and easy
    • Snap-in housing and blower further simplify installation since you can hear – and feel – when they are properly seated. Easy-to-position carriage allows housing location adjustment between joists so you can control the correct ceiling placement
    • ULTRASmart™ DC Motor & Control Technology provides energy efficiency almost 10 times greater than ENERGY STAR® requirements and maintains rated power (CFM) in nearly every installation. You have confidence you’re getting the expected performance and won’t even notice the fan usage on your utility bill
    • UL Listed for use over tubs and showers with a GFCI circuit; so you can capture the steam before it spreads throughout the room by locating your fan exactly where you need it the most

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model XB110L exhaust fan/light/night light. The XB110L is IC rated and you can place insulation against the sides and on top of the unit housing, up to an R40 value.

I know what to do with the neutral and ground connection. What is the difference between the red and black connection on the blower motor?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model XB80L exhaust fan. The motor in the XB80L is also used in other models where the red wire is used. The red motor wire is not used in the XB80L. You would connect the hot power wire from your wall fan switch to the black motor wire.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model XB110L exhaust fan/light/night light. The reflector/grille assembly is held against the ceiling with butterfly springs. You would pull the grille straight down approximately two inches. You would then reach around the grille and squeeze the springs together to completely remove it. You will also need to unplug the lamp socket assembly before it will come down completely. The installation instructions are available for download from our web site.

Note that he XB50 and XB80 models do come with a 4" reducer. The XB110 is not advertised as supporting 4" so I am just wondering if I can use this in my application with a 4" venting or not? Thanks.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model XB110L exhaust fan/light/night light. The XB110L does not come with a six inch to four inch transition because we do not recommend using four inch duct work on the XB110L.

We cannot get the lens out of this model to change a burnt out bulb! Please advise. When we try to push in the lens it acts as if it will crack.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model XB110L exhaust fan/light/night light. The light lens is held in the grille by two tabs. You can place a small flat blade screwdriver alongside the lens, between the lens and grille, and gently pry the lens out of the grille.
