Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for remodel projcts Unless you have space to work in the attic, this is not a remodel unit. I have not actually used the unit as of yet. I am finishing the shower then I will know more. Seems to be louder than expected, but I think this is due to me reducing it to a 4 inch exhaust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and does a fantastic job When I was done with my shower just after the fan was installed, I was totally amazed at the fact that my mirror had no condensation on it. It was clear. YAY! No more worries about mold in the bathroom. I am in an older house and this is going to be a great help .And it's quiet, looks good, and has a sweet little, but effective, night light, Price was fair. Yes, I am happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from humidity sensor works well Damper was broke in box like other reviews but we used a soffit vent with a built in damper

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this product does exactly what i wanted it to do. We had it installed in a small, older shower stall that has limited ventilation and thus suffered from a military smell we couldn't get rid of. Because this system automatically runs whenever moisture is detected, we no longer have any problems with odor. I was afraid it would be noisy, but it is so quiet, I barely know when it's running. Highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from little appliance with big results Installed this unit in my bathroom. the home was built in 1928 and never had a venting system. I was always oil treating the wood cabinets to prevent damage to the finish from steam. this unit was small and versitile enough to allow me to customize it's installation into an existing lath and plaster ceiling. the exterior venting was time consuming, but does not reflect on this appliances installation. installed quickly, attached pre-run 6" ridged vent system and electrical wiring, (to NEC requirments), installed LED bulb/s and done. I am so impressed with this little unit and how well it performs. It's CFM's exceed most exhaust systems by 2/3 of any systems now available at large home improvement stores. Nice appearence and easy adjustments / repair when needed. this unit is highly recommended and if properly located in the room, steam and oders will be only memories. Works extreamly well and the automatic features and over-rides make this a "smart-fan". Great prices for it's value to me. Consider this item in your home improvement discovery phase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, yet powerful I bought this fan to replace an old, and quite noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom next to my home office. This is SO much quieter, and is very efficient. Great product, and I would recommend it highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broan QTX110SL - fantastic Perfect answer for a father with daughters. Fan works exactly as advertised, and for half the price of their newer models. Fan comes on automatically when shower is used. When you go outside you see the steam billowing out the roof cap, something the old 4" fan never did. No more wet walls, steam on mirror, or yelling thru the door "Turn on the FAN". Very quite too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product is very quiet which I love. Unfortunately I perchased the recommended unit for the bathroom in which it was installed. I am sure if I had purchased the more powerful unit I would be entirely satisfied and would would give it 5 stars all the way!

  • Fan turns on during day even though I have turned the humidity setting way up

We have two of these fans. I have adjusted the humidity way up for both of them. They both turn on during the day when no one is in the bathroom. We live in Seattle and the relative humidity is not that high (53% currently outside).

How does the fan operate in wiring option #1 in automatic mode?

The install instructions and wiring diagram say the fan can be operated in automatic mode or manual mode with the (3) switch wiring diagram. What happens to the fan in automatic mode? if the switch is energized, the fan goes on. Does it go off after a number of minutes and then cycle on if the humidity is high?
    Asked by: Mark
Thank you for the question on the model QTX110SL humidity sensing exhaust fan/light/night light. In wiring option number one you would want to keep the wall switch for the automatic humidity sensor turned on so it would come on when it senses high humidity. If the fan is needed for odors you would turn the humidity sensor wall switch off and right back on. The fan will then run for the user preset time and shut off until it senses high humidity. For further assistance please contact our Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453.

How can I change a light bulb in this model?

    Asked by: CEO
Thank you for your question on the model QTX110SL humidity sensing exhaust fan/light/night light. To replace the light bulb, carefully insert a small flat blade screw driver between the grille and lens, on the short end of the lens, and gently pry the lens out of the grille.

how come with the model qtxe110sflt, when you go to accessories, there are a bunch of three rocker switches. when you go to accessories on this model, it shows no switches? do you need a three rocker switch for this model, or just a regular switch. strange.
    Asked by: montauk
Thank you for your question on the model QTX110SL humidity sensing exhaust fan/light/night light. For independent operation of all functions of the QTX110SL, we would suggest using the model 77 four function combination switch. If you give up the manual override of the exhaust fan, you could use the model 66 or 685WL three function combination switches. It is also possible to use either three or four standard wall switches. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.
