Rated 4 out of 5 by humidity sensor works well Damper was broke in box like other reviews but we used a soffit vent with a built in damper March 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by this product does exactly what i wanted it to do. We had it installed in a small, older shower stall that has limited ventilation and thus suffered from a military smell we couldn't get rid of. Because this system automatically runs whenever moisture is detected, we no longer have any problems with odor. I was afraid it would be noisy, but it is so quiet, I barely know when it's running. Highly recommend it! February 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by little appliance with big results Installed this unit in my bathroom. the home was built in 1928 and never had a venting system. I was always oil treating the wood cabinets to prevent damage to the finish from steam. this unit was small and versitile enough to allow me to customize it's installation into an existing lath and plaster ceiling. the exterior venting was time consuming, but does not reflect on this appliances installation. installed quickly, attached pre-run 6" ridged vent system and electrical wiring, (to NEC requirments), installed LED bulb/s and done. I am so impressed with this little unit and how well it performs. It's CFM's exceed most exhaust systems by 2/3 of any systems now available at large home improvement stores. Nice appearence and easy adjustments / repair when needed. this unit is highly recommended and if properly located in the room, steam and oders will be only memories. Works extreamly well and the automatic features and over-rides make this a "smart-fan". Great prices for it's value to me. Consider this item in your home improvement discovery phase. Rated 5 out of 5 by Quiet, yet powerful I bought this fan to replace an old, and quite noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom next to my home office. This is SO much quieter, and is very efficient. Great product, and I would recommend it highly. January 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Broan QTX110SL - fantastic Perfect answer for a father with daughters. Fan works exactly as advertised, and for half the price of their newer models. Fan comes on automatically when shower is used. When you go outside you see the steam billowing out the roof cap, something the old 4" fan never did. No more wet walls, steam on mirror, or yelling thru the door "Turn on the FAN". Very quite too. February 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This product is very quiet which I love. Unfortunately I perchased the recommended unit for the bathroom in which it was installed. I am sure if I had purchased the more powerful unit I would be entirely satisfied and would would give it 5 stars all the way! February 20, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fan is quiet and efficient. The fan was installed in my new house when I purchased it. The builder said he chose it because it is so quiet. My bathroom is very large - in order to allow for wheelchair users - and it does a good job of ventilating it. However, the switch which was supposed to have a sensor in it which would turn on the fan as needed seemed to have a mind of its own. The fan came on almost regularly at about 10 minute intervals all day and all night. Eventually I had an electrician come and replace the switch with a regular one and now I am quite satisfied. Rated 5 out of 5 by Quiet fan and humidity sensor works well Fan was delivered in a couple of days with no damage. Installed this fan as a replacement for a noisey simple on/off unit. Works very well. Wife is happy. December 18, 2012

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QTX110SL humidity sensing exhaust fan/light/night light. If you are installing the fan so the fan only operates automatically, we suggest three separate switches or a three function combination switch (our model 66W or 66V). If you wish to be able to also control the fan with an override switch, you would need four separate switches or a four function combination switch (our model 77W or 77V).

The install instructions and wiring diagram say the fan can be operated in automatic mode or manual mode with the (3) switch wiring diagram. What happens to the fan in automatic mode? if the switch is energized, the fan goes on. Does it go off after a number of minutes and then cycle on if the humidity is high?

    Answer:
Thank you for the question on the model QTX110SL humidity sensing exhaust fan/light/night light. In wiring option number one you would want to keep the wall switch for the automatic humidity sensor turned on so it would come on when it senses high humidity. If the fan is needed for odors you would turn the humidity sensor wall switch off and right back on. The fan will then run for the user preset time and shut off until it senses high humidity. Thank you for your question on the model QTX110SL humidity sensing exhaust fan/light/night light. The QTX110SL will draw a total of 1.3 Amps. You should not have a problem hooking this up to a 15 Amp circuit.

Can this fan be connected to a 4" duct?

I do not see a 80 CFM humidity sensing broan fan light. Since I only need 80 CFM I was currious if this fan can be used on a 4" duct? (about 8' long with one 90 degree bend)

Thank you for your question on the model QTX110SL humidity sensing exhaust fan/light/night light. The QTX110SL requires a six inch, preferably rigid, duct work. We cannot recommend or suggest using anything smaller. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

In theory, LED bulbs are direct replacements for incandescent bulbs. Of course, it is now impractical to commit to incandescents as they will soon vanish from the market, and I stopped using them years ago anyway. So can an LED bulb equivalent to 100W incandescent be used in this unit?
