    Switch out F784A with a QTR140

We have our F784 mounted in the ceiling of the laundry room. The room is rather small and gets heated up by the washer and dryer. When we turn on the fan we can barely hear it run. We removed it and it is pretty clean. It spins when plugged in but you cannot feel it suck when it is mounted up in the housing and you do not feel it blow when you are outside the house at the wall cap. The fan exhausts straight out a 4" pipe with a run of about 16 feet. Can we simply swap this motor, squirrel cage and metal plate with a QTR140 to get a lot more CFM?

    Answer:
I wonder if perhaps a better solution would be to simply replace the motor with one for a Broan 676 model? Both fans appear to have the exact same size box and that model has a 110 CFM motor even though it is louder.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model F784. The only parts available for this model are the original replacement parts. If you need more cfm's, you would need to completely remove this unit from the ceiling and install a fan that better meets your needs. For more assistance, please contact Technical Support at 800-637-1453.

Our bathroom is poorly lit. I'd like to replace the existing F784 with a fan that has a light on it. Do you have a suggestion that will make replacement very easy?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model F784 exhaust fan. You could not add any parts to your current unit housing to make it a fan/light. You would need to completely remove the current unit from the ceiling and install a new model. You would also need to enlarge the hole in the ceiling. The two models we would recommend for replacement would be the RB80L or the AE80BL. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

Thank you for your question on the model F784 exhaust fan finish kit. We are normally not told why something has been discontinued. It is usually because of lack of sales.
