Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broan, Great Brand, Great Product. Hello, this is a great product backed by a company that I’ve been using for over 25 years, we own a home with 3 bathrooms and have a Broan model 655F ceiling mounted heater/fan/light unit in each. If you want a fan that can seriously move some air or quickly heat your bathroom in the winter then I highly recommended you take a look at installing one of these, I haven’t been disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor motor quality Used the heater 3 times and the shaft came loose inside the motor and fan will only slightly spin. Plus, it was noisy for those 3 days.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY! I don't know what went wrong with Broan.... Had Broan 655 in house since 1993 with occasional heater failures, approximately 1 every 5 years. In the past 15 months I've replaced about 6 of these in my bathroom, not to mention extremely noisy. JUNK Motors!! Am looking for alternative brand to replace.

  • what is the difference between the 655 and the 655f Thanks.

    Asked by: Austin
Thank you for your question. The 655 is the entire unit, whereas the 655F is only the internal workings and grille. If you purchase the 655F, it is assumed that you have the 654H (housing) already in place.

    No Power

I have no Power to my 655F . I know all 3 {fan, light and heater can't go out all together {4 years old}. Check the current on the switches {2 for the light and fan and a timer for the heater } Both the light and fan will give me audio alarm when the switch is turn on and alarm is off when the switch is off. Does this unit have like a fuse in the box or is it just main power connection ?
    Asked by: bote110
Thank you for your question on the Broan 655. The 655 heater, fan, light does not have a fuse. The alarm on your tester may be going off but it is not telling how much voltage you are getting to the fan, light, heater. You can test each individual function by plugging each function one by one into an extension cord and plugging it into a nearby outlet. This will tell you that each function is working. If they are working, I would concentrate your efforts to the incoming power from your house going into the fan box. Can the light be connected to the fan on the same switch?

    Asked by: Ed
Thank you for your question on the model 655F finish pack for the exhaust fan/heater/light combination unit. There should be no problem wiring the light and exhaust fan to the same switch so they operate together. Can the heater and fan be replaced in an older unit that is installed?

Hi, I have an existing 655F mounted and only the light is working due to much dust buildup in unit around fan and heat unit. Can the fan/heater unit be replaced in the old housing while in ceiling? Thanks.
    Asked by: LJ
Thank you for your question on the model 655 exhaust fan/heater/light. There are replacement parts available for the model 655 and they can be replaced from the bathroom side of the unit without totally removing it from the ceiling. The exhaust fan assembly is part number 97005011 and the heater assembly is part number 97017063. These can both be purchased through the “Shop for Parts” link at the top of our web site page.
