Length of ductwork to the outside

Is there a maximum length of the ductwork between the hood and the outside vent? Can you describe the impact of increased distance and the number of 90 degree turns on the optimal operation of this hood? My installation would allow for the use of 3 1/4 X 14" duct, but it will have a number of 90 degree turns. It will vent vertically, then make a 90 to horizontal, then another 90 to vertical, 90 to horizontal and finally last 90 to vertical and a long run to the roof. Would the hood still provide good venting with that setup, or should I seek alternative options for venting?

Thank you for your question on the model E66130SS range hood. A maximum of 30’’ above the cook top is highly recommended for best capture of cooking impurities. Although your installation may not give you the absolute best capture of the cooking impurities, it is close enough to still do a good job.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model E66130SS range hood. The E66130SS range hood requires two 120 volt, 50 watt maximum, type MR16, shielded halogen lamps with a GU10 base. We cannot recommend or suggest using any bulbs other than the ones listed in the installation instructions.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model E66130SS range hood. We do not require a make-up air supply for this range hood, but you may want to check with your local codes for the requirements in your area. The MD8TU make-up air damper is compatible with this model.

Does this vent require different exhaust ducting than the Broan QS330SS?

    Will vent
Our current vent needs to be replaced, and it appears to be similar to the Broan QS330SS, with the fan on one side and a 7" circular duct opening. I would rather have the E66130.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model E66130SS and QS330SS range hoods. The E66130SS will vent either horizontally or vertically using 3-1/4” x 14” rectangular duct work but with T461 adapter, changes to 3 1/4" x 10". You will have increased noise and reduced performance. The QS330SS will vent either horizontally or vertically using 3-1/4” x 10” rectangular or vertically using 7” round duct work. You can convert the 3-1/4” x 10” to 7”round, using a model 412H transition.
