Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Quiet Unit We've had this unit for the past two years. It has lights and a night light. It took some effort to remove the old unit and due to the vent size difference we had to size the exhaust vent to fit our vent. What I enjoy most is how quiet it is and how much air it moves. I put an LED bulb in the night light side so it basically stay on all the time. This unit puts out a lot of light, but due to the size of our bathroom we had lights put over the shower area. I would recommend to anyone replacing a bathroom fan to consider putting a little more money into a unit like this and enjoy a quality product. March 10, 2014

What is the sones value of these fan at a realistic amount of static pressure?

The perfomance state the qtre080 fan has .8 Sones at .10" of static. In realtity you will have way more static tha .01". A discharge wall cap will add more than that. If I have .25" of static I can tell from the chart that my CFM will go down to 55 but what will my sones value raise up to?

Is a brown/bronze cover available for these fans? We are mounting them on a wood ceiling and would like them to blend in.

    Thanks for addressing my question.

Thank you for your question on the model QTRE080 exhaust fan. The only grille available for the QTRE080 would be the white polymeric grille. There are no other grille options.

    Something quieter than the QTRE110-B?

     on QTRE110
Our builder installed a QTRE110-B. At 1.3 sones, it is quiet, but we were hoping for something more like the ULTRA series (<0.3 sones).

Is there a model that has the very low sones that can retrofit into the housing for the QTRE110-B? The builder did install the current fan with 4" ducting. I'd really like to avoid removing the whole housing.

    Thanks!

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QTRE110 exhaust fan. The only parts that will work in the QTRE110 housing are the original replacement parts. If you need an exhaust fan that is quieter, you would need to completely remove the QTRE110 and replace it with another model. It would also be possible that you would need to change out the duct work to six inch.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QTRE110 exhaust fan. This unit can be installed when there is no access from above, but you will need to remove more of the ceiling than would normally be necessary and repair the ceiling after the installation.
