How does this fit into the fan?
Does this have the two wires that are put up into the ceiling? Is there at least a half-inch clearance in the center of the grille for parts to fit? We bought a cover that was flush to the ceiling and our fan has hardware that comes out of the ceiling for about a half an inch. Thank you.
Thank you for your question. Our bath fans are designed to be installed with the bottom of the can flush with the finished side of the dry wall. When installed incorrectly the grille will not attach properly. Correct install is to: Squeeze grille springs together and insert into slots in motor plate. Push grille up against ceiling. Grille used on models (663,670,671, 675.688 and 689).

10" x 10" Bath Fan Grill part number
I see this question asked in many ways, "This BP20 Grille is dimensionally correct for my fan (10" x 10") but the spring centers are not. My fan has springs on approx. 7-9/16" centers and the BP20 springs are on 6-1/4" centers. What part number do I order for the spring centers I need?
Has Broan Customer Service ever been able to answer this basic question? It comes up over and over and I have the same question.
Thank you for your question on exhaust fan grilles. We have made many exhaust fans over the years and many of the grilles are slightly different and will not work on all models. The best way to find the proper grille for your unit is to get the model number of your exhaust fan from the data plate inside the unit and contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

What are the dimensions of the fan box?
We have this fan in our bathroom & are looking to replace it without having to widen the ceiling opening. Thus, need the dimensions...Thanks!
Thank you for your question on the BP20 grille. The single part number for the grille is 97006651. It measures 10" x 10" and includes the grille springs. You can order part number 97006651 on the Broan website under the Shop for Parts link or by contacting Customer Service at 800-558-1711. The housings that used this grille cover could have measured 7-1/4" x 7-1/2" or 8" x 8-1/4". You would need to measure your housing or get the model number off the unit so we can help you further. Our Technical Support can assist you more at 800-637-1453.

What part needs replacement?
Hi there, we bought a house with this fan in the bathroom. We vacuumed it out, but the motor seems to not really work anymore. Would the motor be the only part that we need to replace to get it working again? Many thanks!!
Thank you for your question on ventilation fans. The BP20 is the model number for a 6pk of grilles. Unfortunately, this doesn't tell us which model fan you have. If the motor is not working, we can try to help you find a new motor for your unit. We will need to know the model number of the fan you have installed in order to help you more. The model number can be found up, inside the housing on a specification label. Be sure to include any letters that come after the model number. Once you have this please contact Customer Service at 800-558-1711.
