Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this range hood---it does exactly what I wanted without a lot of noise, it is easy to clean and looks great. I love this range hood because it does exactly what I wanted without a lot of noise. The lights put out a lot of light, the surface is easy to clean and looks great. I had a contractor install this hood, therefore I cannot answer as to the difficulty of installation. October 16, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too noisy I thought this blower would be relatively quiet. It is just too noisy October 16, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible filters Washed filters in dishwasher with non-phosphate detergent. Came out so discolored that they look like they've been in a fire. Very unattractive. Poor advertisement for Broan. June 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super under cabinet exhaust hood The lighting is SO good. It is not too loud and it looks great. April 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Vent After some Internet searching we got this vent because it looked good, had external controls and good vent capacity. It replaced a combined microwave / hood which did not have an external vent, so it was up kind of high. At low speed it is very quiet. At high speed it is somewhat loud. My wife usually uses low or next to low speed. She uses it at next to high speed when she is boiling water to keep the kitchen cool and high speed during stir frying. She especially likes the lights which provide a very good lighting for the cooking surface. I installed the hood myself, venting it directly outside through the wall behind the stove. The hood comes with a 14" vent. In my case the studs in the wall were fortunately exactly centered so that the vent location would fit between the studs (which have a 14.25" gap. I bought a Broan 14" wall cap which worked good. I also needed to buy an additional section 14" duct from Home Depot by mail order to complete the connection from the hood to the wall cap. As I recall there is a 14" to 10" duct adapter available. The only tricky part of the installation was slipping the hood onto the screws that hold it in place from the top. The instructions said to preinstall all the screws and then slide/slip the hood on. This proved to be impossibly difficult. I ended up using 2 screws on opposite corners, and then putting in the rest shortly thereafter. The hood is a bit heavy and was lifted in to position easily by me and my wife, but was too much for me by myself. I purchased this from Lowes who matched the best price I found from major retailers on the internet. February 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sleek, stylish and efficient! I was able to get this as a floor model so got it for a great price, otherwise I'm not sure if I would have purchased it because retail price is a bit costly. BUT, it is a great unit! I was looking for something sleek and not bulky, this is a perfect unit with great lighting options and fan speed options. I love it! February 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fan is quiet Fan works well, 4 stars because it makes a loud clicking sound while it's on and can be annoying, had it replaced but still there only quieter September 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good value for the features and effectiveness but could be quieter The product is effective for removing smoke and odor. I like that the light is bright, even at the lowest setting. The noise level is too high. September 9, 2014

I cannot duct the hood horizontally because of a beam in the wall behind the hood, so I will have to go vertical at least 8 inches, maximum 20 inches, and then go horizontal and go out the wall. I could use your T460 transition, a 7" flexible duct and 7" wall cap, I can also use the T459 transition to 8" round with a 8" flexible duct and 8" wall cap, or I can use rectangular 14" x 3.25" vertical duct, a 14" x 3.25" 90 degree elbow and your WC638 Wall Cap. I want the less amount of noise from the fan at all speeds. What would you recommend?
I will buy either the E66136 or the QP436 hood, the one that is quieter at all speeds. I will have to make a choice in the next two weeks. Please advise.

Why does air blow the steam away from the vent?

If I put a paper towel directly under the vent, there is suction pulling it up. When steam is rising from the stove top though, air is actually coming down and blowing it out into my face and not up to the vent.

Hello, I'm installing the Broan Elite E66130SS, will a 3.25 X 14 rectangle duct fit onto the supplied vent. I need to extent the rectangle duct 3' through the cabinet and on through ceiling before i can convert to a round type duct.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model E66130SS range hood. The E66130SS requires the use of 3-1/4” x 14” rectangular duct work and as long as you continue using the 3-1/4” x 14” duct through the cabinet and into the attic before converting to either seven or eight inch round duct, you should be fine.
