Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many features great for the home chef! We bought this range hood as part of our complete kitchen renovation. We needed a 42" wide and 10" tall stainless steel, under-cabinet range hood for the design. We also needed one that was configurable for rear venting, as opposed to venting through the top, because we wanted our design to have a fully-usable cabinet above the hood. Additionally, we wanted a powerful blower, but variable to still have a quieter setting option. This product checked all of those boxes for us. We also bought the Broan-recommended wall cap duct to vent straight horizontally through the rear of the hood through the wall to the outside. And we also bought the Broan stainless steel backsplash with wire shelves for this hood - for easy clean up. The whole system together is just perfect. It all fit perfectly together during the installation process and looks nice too. The powerful blower takes the oil particles and cooking smells right out of the kitchen. We are more than happy with this purchase. Although a little pricey, everything worth anything is pricey these days. So we got over the price of all of this pretty quickly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful ventilation The hood is streamlined and the vent is very powerful. The only thing that is disappointing is that when the lights are on the lowest setting they flicker so I always have to have them turned brighter even if I don’t need it brighter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Odors are non existent If you start the fan high enough to pull odors out right when you begin cooking, the house will not smell like food. I used to enter the house and know what was for dinner, not anymore!! Fan is loud at higher settings but I never use it full blast except for when something is burning

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Powerful -does the job! Very pleased with the range hood. Eliminates odors and smoke from the cooktop. Restaurant quality at an affordable price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strong blower This unit has a very strong and effective blower. Although the packaging appeared solid, there was a noticeable "ding" in the hood. NO worries though, a replacement unit came quickly with no issues. It definitely enhanced our kitchens appeal! If I could change one thing about this unit, I would have had it manufactured slightly different so that the perimeter grommets used in fastening the hood together didn't shadow the face of the unit. You can barely see it, but if you get real close to the unit you can see the shadow of the grommets below. The light bulbs were also a chore to put in place. If you experience an issue with the bulbs, keep at it...you'll get them in eventually.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Motor lasted only 4 years, too noisy, NOT RECOMMNDED The motor life is extremely poor - Lasted only 4 years ! .Replacement motor costs almost half the price of the whole unit . In my old house I have a much very inexpensive model, in which the motor is almost 2 decades old !!! Too noisy Baffle filters are a mess to clean up kitchen grease. Does not easily go away - poor design in my opinion. Look for some thing else - Absolutely NOT recommended

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. I bought this product (mine vent out ) 4 months ago. I am very satisfied with the purchase. I cook everyday and it is Asian cooking. It means lots of grease and strong smell ingredients (turmeric, cumin, onion etc). I use it in high setting, It absorbs all the grease and odor from cooking. The house feel fresh and I do not have to worry about the smell on clothes and furniture. One thing I am having problem is my gas bill. I do not know it is the product or the installation, my gas bill has doubled.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does a good job The hood is effective in keeping smoke and fumes out of the kitchen. However, the noise level is high. Also a couple of minor problems with knobs and lighting. One of the knobs ( for the light) will not stay on no matter how tight the set screw is it keeps coming off. Also tried to get the light bulbs out and the mechanism is not engineered correctly, it will simply not come out. I did call Broan and left a message but no one called back. So much for customer service.

    Duct size

Can I "transition" the duct to a 6" or 8" from the 10", or does it have to be a 10" all the way through?
    Asked by: TVC
I vertically ducted my hood from the 3 1/4" x 10" to a 7" round duct. 7" to 8" is the recommended size duct if you are converting it to round.

What type of pipe should be used to vent the E6430SS? Can aluminum flex piping be sufficient/ recommended?

    Asked by: Lauren
Thank you for your question on the model E6430SS range hood. The E6430SS requires 3-1/4” x 10” duct work to connect to the damper duct adapter. You can then convert that to either 7” or 8” round duct work. We recommend using rigid duct work whenever possible. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

Can LED bulbs be used instead of halogen?

    Asked by: D H
Thank you for your question on the E6430SS range hood. We recommend that you use only the type of bulb recommended for your range hood. Using a replacement LED bulb will not void the warranty; however we cannot guarantee the operation or life of the LED bulbs. Due to higher heat generated by cooking, the lifespan of the bulb could be greatly shortened. Improper controls for the LED bulb can also cause flickering on low light settings or even no light at all. Sometimes the LED replacement may not shut off, staying on at a very low level even when the light switch is off. If you have further questions, please contact Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453.
