    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model AP130WW range hood. For the best capture of cooking impurities, the range hood should be mounted so that the bottom of the hood is 18”-24” above the cooking surface.

Why does AP130SS-shuts off on its own?

In the past 4 weeks the blower fan will intermittently shut off when running after around 10-15 minutes. After about 10 minutes it will turn back on.

This started occurring after I removed the blower unit and cleaned the wheels. The unit is approximately 6 years and never had this problem until after I cleaned it.

Is there a thermostat somewhere that needs to be checked?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model AP130SS range hood. If you removed the blower wheels from the motor, it would be possible that you put the wheels on the wrong ends of the motor and now the motor is overheating. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model AP136WW range hood. There is a rectangular damper/duct connector that comes with the hood. This has the back draft damper in it and also gives you a way to connect the 3-1/4” x 10” rectangular duct to the hood. The hood will not come with a a wall or roof cap.

The installation guide shows 6 ¼ *2 = 12 ½” width, meanwhile the duct width is listed at 10 ½ in the spec. Why different? How does that work?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the Broan AP130SS. This hood uses a 3 1/4" x 10" duct size but the opening through the bottom of the cabinet needs to be wider to accomodate the damper assembly that is wider where it attaches to the range hood. Should you have further questions, please contact Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453.
