  • The AP1 series is part of BROAN's newest pro-style undercabinet hood collection, uniting stylish appearance with tremendous value. The deep 9 in. height provides excellent capture of cooking grease and odor, whether vented to the exterior, or installed to recirculate air through optional charcoal filters. Optional non-duct recirculation kit available with charcoal filters sold separately.

    • Concealed variable speed control with last setting memory means the hood is set for the next time you cook your favorite dish
    • 440 CFM at 7.0 Sones on high setting, 120 CFM at 0.5 Sones on low setting
    • Two halogen lamps (designed for bulbs up to 50 W, GU10 bulbs purchase separately) light up the cooktop and surrounding area. Two-level light control gives you unmatched visibility
    • Mesh grease filters with Antimicrobial Protection are dishwasher-safe. The coating inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria and protects the filter so it stays cleaner in between cleanings. Your kitchen stays fresher longer
    • This hood is adaptable to recirculation applications with the addition of Optional Non-Duct Recirculation Kit NDK35830WW for installations where ducting to the exterior is not possible
    • Heat Sentry™ is a smart feature that detects excessive heat and adjusts speed to high automatically to prolong product life
    • Non-Duct Filter 88F required for non-ducted installations, purchased separately

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very good, functional unit, but not for tall people. This stainless steel hood with variable-speed fan and low-high light performs quite well. It seems solidly built and is an attractive addition to a functional kitchen. However -- and this is an important point -- engineering principles regarding air flow determine the height of the unit above the cooking surface. As a result, this unit is installed typically at a height of about 5 feet 10 inches. This means that anyone over 5' 9" sooner or later will bang their head (ouch!) on the corner of the unit. Additionally, until they get familiar with the fan and light controls, tall people will need to slouch down to locate the controls. Thus, my recommendation to purchase this hood is conditional on how tall you are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Looking Works GREAT This was a replacement for original range hood 18 Years old. This had a good CFM and looks great. Was NOT difficult to instal. It works GREAT (must open a window to allow air into kitchen so it can exhaust out) a relative in heating and air conditioning business says THAT IS MANDATORY

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replaced over the range microwave with range hood Replaced over the range microwave with this range hood. Easy to order. Quickly shipped and arrived. Range hood fan is very quite on lower speeds which still move a lot of air. Great lighting with two 50w halogen MR16 bulbs. As to install, READ the directions and handle the hood as cautioned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very beautiful, clean, modern look - miles apart from the normal sloped hoods. I brought this hood because I wanted something with a clean, modern anmd different and artistic look. This was the only one I could find (other than Tamburo - twice as expensive) that did not look like the 99% other metal range hoods available in the market. I am very happy with the looks, it matches the rest of my stainless steel kitchen appliances. It performs very well and is easy to clean., Myself and my husband installed it in less than one hours. This hood makes all my guests ask where did you buy it, we have never seen anything looking this nice in stainless steel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good air flow The hood fan is effective at removing steam. However, it sticks out quite a bit causing problems when working at the stove. The corners are sharp and can give you good knock on the head if you aren't careful. The halogen lights sometimes don't work due to loss of contact in the sockets. I've had one of the lights fall out of the socket completely several times!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking hood at a reasonable price I shopped around and this was the best looking hood and the price was great

If min mounting height is 18" above cooking surface, what is maximum height ?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question regarding the AP1 range hood installation height. The maximum height sometimes depends on a cook top manufacturers dictates but we suggest the maximum height for good capture of impurities should be no more than 30" above the burners. If you have more questions, contact the Technical Support Department at 800-637-1453.
