  • AR80LX is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works but I wish I had a different cover for it I found online that several of the units have nicer face plates / covers -- i.e. metal, brass, etc. I wish I would have chosen that instead of the cheap plastic looking cover that this one has.. overall it works but I do need to have someone put in a timer instead of a light switch because I often shower right before I leave the house.. I wish they had a feature where it only would run for a certain amount of time before automatically shutting off

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product has good standard features. Product exceeds expectations, and performs well. Installation of cover plate too difficult; needs to be made easier. Installer and store had problems figuring it out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I purchased this product from Lowes. The Grille attachment via the supplied clips does not allow attachment. After extreme frustration and internet searches for solutions...i am now really concerned. Based on the reviews on your own website...this problem has been identified (by written admission) over 1 year ago. yet the company continues to supply this product. My concern , other than the wasting of 8 plus hours of my time is...the company has little concern for the value of its customers time. I would like to understand why the "improved/redesigned" clips are not being shipped with the current product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from springs are incorrect for this unit I called Broan technical support and advised that the canopy springs are not holding up the grill. Technical support advised incorrect springs were added to boxed unit. They will be sending me a new set of springs. Thank you Broan for making this a painless call. Cheerfs

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quiet fan which does not move much air Installation went OK until attaching the grill cover with the pathetic springs that came with unit. Husband had to improvise by drilling holes into side of grill in order to put screws through and into two peices of wood he nailed into the ceiling. This mess was all covered when we were doneexcept for two screw heads showing on each side. Frustration to the max and regret buying decision Needs a REdesign! I would NOT recommend this load of frustration to anyone. Fan is quiet, however, I don't feel it moves much air.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grill not designed to be installed. The grill on this fan was not engineered to be installed. about 30 minutes to remove my old fan and install the new one up to snapping on the grill. After two hours of total frustration, I quit. I cant rate the performance because it is hanging from my ceiling by the electrical wires.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from All went good except for the grille Used as replacement for a 20+year old model. Housing was nearly the same size which was nice. I would comment on the difficulty of installing the grille, but looks like many others have done the same - so I won't rake Broan over the coals. Replacement springs are on the way.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice looking product Product was very easy to install up to the point were I needed to put the cover on with the springs. What a nightmare I am very good with my hands but this nearly drove me crazy. I would like to meet the designer of these spring attachments and watch them install it??? Great product terrible design on the cover spring attachments. Still have not been able to get it to work.

  • How do you install the Lighted Grille Assembly?

I have just installed the AR80LX in my bathroom ceiling replacing a mode 663. I worked for at least 25 Minutes or more trying to install the Grille Assembly and gave up as I could not get the Grille Springs to work. Someone Please help with a Video or New Design. I Definately need help with this frustrating problem.
    Asked by: AlaskaDerringer
We had the exact problem and when we called the number listed in the answer they weren't helpful. We changed the size of light bulb we had in it to a smaller bulb and it fits now.

    Fan runs backwards

I was investigating why this thing was so noisy and why I had water droplets collecting on the ceiling around it. I found that the fan was actually running backwards. It was not blowing the air out but trying to pull the air in.
    Asked by: Joshua
Thank you for your question on the AR80LX ventilation fan with light. Our fan motors are not capable of running backwards. If you are experiencing air blowing into the room, this usually indicates a stuck damper, improper duct size or duct work, or an issue with the wall cap or roof cap. An immediate elbow right off the housing can also cause this. We would recommend that you contact our Technical Support Department directly at 800-637-1453 for further discussion.

how is it possible to mount this thing

everything installed but how do you connect the springs to fan/light cover?
    Asked by: Pernell
Thank you for your question on model AR80LX exhaust fan/light. There are tabs on the back of the grille where the springs get mounted. You would take the center of the springs, turn them sideways and push them into the tabs. You should then be able to turn them perpendicular to the grille to attach them to the unit housing. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.
