bp51 and bp28 both look exactly like my part.

I have a very noisy motor in my bath fan, that I know is a broan. I want to replace only the motor, since it was a big pain when I replaced the whole assembly 13 years ago.

bp51 and bp28 both look exactly like my part. how do I know which is correct?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the bath and ventilation fans. You need to look up inside the unit housing for the data plate that will have the model number listed on it. After we have the model number, we can assist you with the proper replacement parts. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

    Answer:
The Broan motor part numbers are exactly the same (99080166) as are the impeller wheels (99110446). I don't know the difference between BP28 and BP51 kits but it could simply be included accessories to make it fit Model 694 and 695-A.

I have two 671-A units in small bathrooms (40 & 45sqft) that use BP28 kits. I wish Broan made different speed motors for the same application. I'd like to use the recommended "99110446" impeller wheel at a lower sone without using a fan speed controller.

    Answer:
This turned out to be the easiest solution:

I removed the motor, and disassembled it. I then lubricated all of the bearings with 2-stroke motor oil additive (the blue stuff). I put the motor back together, and it as quiet as the day I first bought it.

    Answer:
The sone ratings can vary depending upon what model this motor and wheel is installed in. The motor and wheel is the same for both the BP28 and BP51. Please contact technical support for further discussion at 800-637-1453.

    BP 28 vs BP51 vs ?

I have an old unit my motor is BREVEL 85-50-7AM209A10 and the shaft is
1 3/4 " length. The motor and wheel of the BP 28 & BP51 look identical to the BREVEL 85-50-7AM209A10. I know I am taking a chance on replacing it with one of these just trying to match as closely as possible. Which motor and wheel has the 1 3/4 " length? 2 Pics of my old unit uploaded. Thanks

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the models BP28 and BP51 motor/fan blade assemblies. We would need to know the model number of the unit itself in order to help you more. The model number can be found up, inside the housing on a specification label. Be sure to include any letters that come after the model number. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.
