  • bp51 and bp28 both look exactly like my part.

I have a very noisy motor in my bath fan, that I know is a broan. I want to replace only the motor, since it was a big pain when I replaced the whole assembly 13 years ago. bp51 and bp28 both look exactly like my part. how do I know which is correct?

This turned out to be the easiest solution: I removed the motor, and disassembled it. I then lubricated all of the bearings with 2-stroke motor oil additive (the blue stuff). I put the motor back together, and it as quiet as the day I first bought it. -Gromittoo

Thank you for your question on a cooling motor. We have no affiliation with Miller welders and would not be able to assist you with finding a new cooling motor for it.

What is the sones value for BP51 abd BP28. Are both same sound level?
    Asked by: sunnyjay70
The sone ratings can vary depending upon what model this motor and wheel is installed in. The motor and wheel is the same for both the BP28 and BP51. Please contact technical support for further discussion at 800-637-1453.

    BP 28 vs BP51 vs ?

I have an old unit my motor is BREVEL 85-50-7AM209A10 and the shaft is 1 3/4 " length. The motor and wheel of the BP 28 & BP51 look identical to the BREVEL 85-50-7AM209A10. I know I am taking a chance on replacing it with one of these just trying to match as closely as possible. Which motor and wheel has the 1 3/4 " length? 2 Pics of my old unit uploaded. Thanks

Thank you for your question on the models BP28 and BP51 motor/fan blade assemblies. We would need to know the model number of the unit itself in order to help you more. The model number can be found up, inside the housing on a specification label. Be sure to include any letters that come after the model number. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.
