  • The QS1 Series Range Hoods are the quietest in their category and deliver the brilliance of halogen lighting to your cook top. Their quiet nature is due to the fan’s unique axial blade technology. You’ll be able to carry on a conversation while cooking without asking your family to repeat themselves.

    • Powder-coated finish in black is durable, easy to clean and will be a perfect match to your black appliances
    • Monochromatic black controls blend with hood for a clean, neat appearance
    • 42” width to fit with like-size cook tops and cabinetry. Proper sizing provides effective ventilation
    • Rated at 1.5 sones on Normal speed, the QS1 is over 50% quieter than the typical range hood in its class. The 220 CFM fan provides effective ventilation and you won’t have to turn up the volume to hear your favorite song while cooking
    • Two-speed rocker control gives you convenient command of Normal and High fan speeds. Use the quiet, Normal, setting for average cooking conditions and switch to High to quickly remove unwanted cooking aromas
    • Twin halogen light system designed for bulbs up to 50 W,(PAR20 bulbs not included), can be adjusted to two levels with the front soft-touch push buttons. They provide bright, soft or ambient illumination for impressive lighting over the cook top and surrounding area. Enjoy the clear advantage of seeing what you are cooking
    • Two dishwasher-safe, aluminum grease filters are engineered to remove airborne particles efficiently and clean up easily to keep your range hood operating at peak efficiency (For non-duct option use charcoal filter, Model BPSF42, sold separately)
    • Clean SenseTM charcoal filters (BPSF42, sold separately) have an indicator that changes color when replacement is necessary for an easy maintenance reminder (non-ducted installation only)
    • Easy installation with keyhole mounting slots, connector/backdraft dampers and four ducting options provide simple flexibility
      • 3 1/4” x 10” vertical discharge
      • 3 1/4” x 10” horizontal discharge
      • 7” round, vertical discharge
      • Non-ducted recirculation requires two Clean SenseTM charcoal filters, BPSF42, sold separately
    • Includes adjustable duct connectors to accommodate off-center ductwork and make installation a snap
    • Permanently lubricated fan motor is designed for years of trouble-free service
    • UL listed for safety and HVI certified to ensure confidence in performance ratings
    • Can work in an ADA Compliant situation when wired to operate from a dedicated, standard 2-rocker or 3-rocker wall switch to turn the hood on or off. See Additional Information above.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Product is easy to read This product works as advertised, but has no instructions on how to fit into an area between the home manufactured area and the hood area. Once figured out, it was easy to install and works great. October 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by good quality happy Very nice product works great. excellent lighting. Switching baffle from inside to outside vent is poorly designed, could be something easier. October 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic product This is a fantastic upgrade to our kitchen. The dual lighting is wonderful. The low light setting is great for general cooking or as a night light in the kitchen after dark. The high light setting is really nice when cooking something delicate that you really want to keep an eye on to not over cook. The lighting covers the entire cooking surface. We opted for the charcoal filter inserts since we had to change to unvented...........WOW even when frying bacon the smell is gone. On the low fan setting you barely here the fan when standing in front of the stove cooking. The high setting is still very quite. The sealed design makes keeping it clean a breeze. So much better than the regular vent hood design. Installation was very easy. I'm an experienced DIY person. The directions are very straight forward and anyone with a little experience should be able to install this unit. Highly recommend it to family and friends. July 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Used to replace our really outdated hood. Am very pleased with the way it looks and it does a good job. July 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Better than what we replaced, for certain. Possibly it was our particular configuration, but I found the installation to be extremely awkward and difficult. In addition, in order to draw from the front burners of the stove, it is necessary to have the unit on high, which, of course, is louder. I think most people use the front burners of the stove most often. I actually have a black hood, not stainless steel. It is very easy to keep clean, so far and is attractive (not overly shiny). Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Value I am very happy with this purchase. I didn't rate the ease of installation because I hired someone to do it. It looks very nice and does a good job. It was much less expensive than most others that I looked at. February 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great range hood This range hood has worked great. I especially like the bright lighting that allows the cooking area to be seen very well. It is also nice to be able to turn the lights down for a night light or in the evenings. It does the job perfectly. March 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This Rocks I have owned many other Brands of range hoods in my life, but this one is by far the best yet!! The lighting is absolutely awesome, fans are quiet. It goes so well with my stainless steel frig that stands next to it. If someone told me they were in the market for a new range hood I would certainly try to convince them to purchase a Broan! My daughter has one also and has had it for many years and it is still performing beautifully. It's a keeper! February 16, 2015

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QS130WW range hood. For the best capture of cooking impurities, your range hood should be mounted so that the top of the hood is 24” - 30” above the cooking surface (16-3/4” – 22-3/4” to the bottom).

I have a gas stove - will this remain cool to the touch when I'm cooking. Also I have 29 inch clearance from bottom of the hood to the cooktop - is this enough for this hood?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QS130SS range hood. If the fan only is turned on while cooking, the hood should remain cool to the touch. If the lights are also on, the hood can get hot especially right above the light bulbs. 29 inches from the top of the cooktop to the bottom of the hood is a little higher than recommended, but it should be OK.
