Rated 5 out of 5 by Injunguy Excellet product for what you pay
We were looking for a range hood strong enough to get rid of the grease and strong smells associated with our Indian cooking. This product was highly recommended by the sales person at the local Menards. After coming back home we found it approx. $75 cheaper on Amazon (after shipping). This product was easy to install into the existing ducted vent. It has two speed levels for the fan. It is absolutely quiet at low speed operation (I guess 180 CFM), but is audible at high speed (450 CFM). The four halogen bulbs (4 pk at IKEA for $10) installed very easily using the rubber suction cup tool, and do provide very bright light (again two levels possible). The two filters snap out easily and can be machine washed – a feature that my wife simply adores.
Looking at the transformation that this product has brought in to our kitchen, I decided to install one in the apartment that I rent out. In this installation there was no vented duct. So, I had to piggy back the filters with activated carbon filters (that I purchased from Menards) so as to remove any odors. In this non-ducted installation the fan operation was much louder even at lower speed. Overall, this is a great product at a very good value.
When I received the 2nd unit via. mail, I found the plastic blower fan broken. Upon contacting the customer service, they shipped me a replacement that came in just 2 days. The customer service at Broan is just oustanding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ally good price and great fan!
Overall, I really like this range hood for price and power. My only wish is that it only has 2 speeds, and I would like one in the middle of very low and very high. Otherwise, it does the job and didn't break the bank.

I find the lighting in two strengths quite useful, but the light bulbs should have been included in the set. Those required were quite expensive. They also get VERY HOT! I would like to see light bulbs in this unit that do not get hot. I burned my fingers by accidentally touching one.
Also one did not work after a few days. The bulb type is not user friendly. It relies on one turn to connect the light bulb with the switch. It should be the basic screw in type instead, in my opinion.
I like the ease of cleaning the nice, big filters.
Nice sleek design. Good fan power.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lois Newly purchased: unable to install lighting
Light bulbs and installer tool not included with this unit so I have no idea if the installer tool would help with the installation of the light bulbs. Was told by Light Bulb dealer that I should not touch the Halogen bulbs when installing. I worked for an hour trying to put them into the back "sockets" but it was hopeless! I don't have much complaint about the rest of the fan. The weather has been really hot so haven't really used the oven #and fan# much but I think the power is sufficient for normal cooking. The fan looks fine over my stove.

Very happy with the hood and appearance but be aware the bulbs and installation tool are not included as it states in the manual.

Rated 3 out of 5 by wick1144retired nice features, great looks, poor quality
I've had the range hood for less than two years now and had to replace the light/fan switch assembly twice. Once under warranty and once after the warranty expired. Nice looks. Great features. The fan has a really nice quiet motor in both low and high speeds. The lighting is very nice. The only part where quality is lacking is the lighting/fan switch assembly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AngeloDog On-Off switch broke shortly after installation.
Bought this range hood at Lowe's, Reasonable price for a low end range hood. After installation, the on-off switch broke. When I went to turn the hood on, the entire switch fell back into the housing. Getting to it required navigating sharp edges and removal of screws. Parts list was no help in showing how to reattach. Looks like it's glued in. New assembly costs $20 so value pricing has just gone out the window. Save your money and buy a higher quality unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MinnesotaBrian Poor quality switches
The switches for the fan and lights are poor quality. They require too much pressure to turn on/off. They make a click sound that is too loud. Switches are plastic and because they require extra force the plastic that keeps them in place may break. Mine broke and Broan sent me replacement switches which were easy to install. But switches are still plastic so they may break again. Disappointed that Broan chose to cut corners and save a dime with these cheap switches. I wish they would design a quality switch and ship free to Broan owners.
I would recommend this product if the switches were better quality.
