Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great! Very clean looks. Fan on low speed is reasonably quiet. The lights are set on either side and on high produce plenty of light to see to cook. The unit requires 35W MR16 GU10 base Halogen bulbs which are not included. Nice light, but kind of pricey. Can get cheaper at Amazon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A cinch to install! Can't say enough nice things about this range hood! It was SO easy to install and looks beautiful! My only (small) disappointment is that it is stainless (which I don't really like) but, after ruining my white range hood by cleaning it with a Mr. Cleaner Eraser (BIG lesson learned) I knew I could keep a stainless hood cleaner. And I love the flat bottom, no nooks and crannies!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Vast Improvement The Broan Hood is very attractive and because of the enclosed area is far easier to keep clean. Great workmanship is evident.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Works great. But the light wire assembly is defective. Light does not work on low beam. Thought maybe it was the switch but it was not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! Shopped several brands before picking this one. Bought at Lowe's and installed it myself. Directions easy to follow and installation was a breeze (we replaced and old non working range hood). Fan is quiet (on both speeds), lighting is excellent. Box clearly marked that bulbs snot included so bought them at same time! Would definitely recommend to others! Only took about 1 hour to install (including removing the old unit).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good price with usable features Installation was easy. Did some preliminary homework/measuring and prep work. FYI, I did the outside vent route and this is a replacement range hood. Two speed fan works well and really pulls out the hot air and odors quickly. Rather quiet as well on both speeds. The high and low lighting is really good. Super bright on high. The only downside is that the two bulbs (35W halogen) get rather hot, but are out of the way and not a safety problem. All in all a smooth installation following the enclosed directions. Everything works as advertised and performs as advertised. Would buy Broan again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fine, except for... The halogen lights operate only on bright, not dim. I have asked for a schematic wiring diagram so I can fix it, since the parts they sent me didn't fix it. Other than that, it's a great value.

  • why is the fan switch blinking on my CBD130SS?

    Asked by: anoy
The fan is overheating. It will auto shut off and restart once it has cooled down. But if it continues, call for service.

    LED lighting

Is there an LED bulb that is compatible with the dual mode halogen fitting? To be sure, if you manufactured one, I would buy it. That however isn't the case, so what should I look at in buying an LED replacement. Just to clarify, the fact that the range hood doesn't come with bulbs leaves the onus of choosing a bulb to me, and I will not be putting a dangerously hot halogen in my kitchen.

Thank you for your question on the model CBD130SS range hood. The CBD130SS requires the use of 120 volt, 35 watt maximum, halogen bulbs - MR16 with GU10 base only. There is no LED bulb that is recommended for use in the CBD130SS. One of the biggest problems with LED’s is that they have a problem with heat, so over a stove or cooktop is not a good place for them.

how high above my stove can i get away with mounting this?

    Asked by: scovart
Thank you for your question on the model CBD130SS range hood. The bottom of the hood MUST NOT BE LESS than 18” and at a maximum of 24” above cooktop for best capture of cooking impurities.

i see a round vent on top of unit I assume it is for vertical outlet , where is the vent hole for horizonal outlet??

    Asked by: dyi
Thank you for your question on the model CBD130SS range hood. The CBD130SS is a convertible range hood and can be ducted vertically or horizontally with 3-¼" x 10" rectangular duct work, vertically with 7" round duct, or non-ducted. There is a knockout on the back of the hood for venting it horizontally. After you remove the knockout, you would install the included 3-¼” x 10” damper/duct connector to the back of the hood. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.
