Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not to hard too install if you follow directions I had five noisy builder grade fans in my house and I bought this one to try it out as a retrofit. It was more difficult to remove the old fan than to install this one, but you definitely need to follow the directions to make sure you do things in the right order. The one I replaced is on the ground floor directly below the living area we use most and my wife (who absolutely hates the sound of the bathroom fans running), doesn't even hear it. It can run for hours and she never notices. Unfortunately, now that I am ready to buy four more of the QTRE080R, I see that it has been discontinued. Bummer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, powerful fan is excellent We installed our fan in an upstairs bath. The fan does a great job in removing excess condensation and humidity from the room automatically. It runs so quietly, you can barely hear it even in the same room, much less downstairs. The installation instructions were easy to follow, but maybe not a first timer's job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice quiet bath fan I had it professionally installed but the professional did it totally wrong which I had to point out. He simply didn't follow the very simple instructions and only attached it to one ceiling joist versus attaching to two as the instructions show. Once properly installed and sealed it is nice and quiet and almost totally prevents any condensation in a 6' x 16' x 9' bathroom. (864cu ft) The only problem is it moves so much air I need to clean the grill pretty often or it gets ugly!! It easily moves two or three times as much air as the fan originally installed by the builder which was the cheapest thing he could find. This is not the cheapest available but works much better, is convenient (automatic) and is nice and quiet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This fan works very good! The auto sensor is super and the fan is very quiet. I installed it myself and it was an easy job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This fan does a great job. This fan has worked very well over the last year. It comes on when it senses humidity and runs about 20 minutes and will come on again if it senses more humidity. It has kept my ceiling in the bathroom from getting wet spots on it from the humidity from the shower. I would purchase another one if I needed one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super quiet! So quiet, we even installed a timer switch so it wouldn't get left on accidentally. Pretty easy to install even though we were replacing an old fan from the late 70's. It needed a bigger hole and we did have to go into the attic, even though not having to do so was one of the selling features. The larger grill covers up any mistakes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from couldn't be happier This fan is really quiet compared to to one it replaced. Easy to install into existing area with minimal modification. Directions are straight forward and easy to follow. Very happy with the end result.

  • How do I effectively clean the dust from the fan fins?

A vacuum cleaner with the crack sucker device does not seem to be removing very much dust.

Try a swiffer duster--I've had some luck with it. Other than that, remove the plate and wash it?
