  • E64E30SS is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best Range Hood for Chinese cooking I have used multiple Range Hood in my old house, my parents' house and my new house. The CFM label for many hood manufacture is over rated; they probably performed at the rated CFM without static pressure, that's without duct involved. Only fool will believe that a 6 inches duct can carry 960CFM on PacAir range hood being sold in Asian market. I have one of this PacAir hoods in my old house and it's junk. I bought this E64E30SS with 1500CFM external blower for my parents' house; the performance is unbelievable. My dad have been using this set up for 3 years and there isn't much grease around kitchen with our Chinese Wok cooking with Capital Wok Range. I just bought the same one for my new house and this is the best investment. For the most time, I only had to turn the speed dial to about 1/3. No nosiy and no smell. If you love cooking, you have to own one of this hood. Keep in mine, you need to open your window a little to allow fresh make-up air. I am looking forward to install a make-up air system in the coming year so that I dont have to have my Window open from time to time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from louder than I thought even we bought the external blower, the fan actually was very loud when we turned it on. but worked well and was very powerful. if it can be more quiet, then I would love it more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of equipment! I love the simple yet effective design. I only wish there were a larger drip catcher on one side.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like all features of this product except for noise level at highest speed. I like the look and the product's simple and easy to use features. I especially like how the filtres are easy to remove and to clean. The only negative aspect is the loud noise when fan operates at the highest speed. I always have it on the second highest speed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed Perfect for my 5-burner gas range with great lighting and effective fans. Fan screens are cleaned in the dishwasher, and I'm glad i made the investment in this vent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Hood, bad control placement This is a great hood. We installed it with an internal blower so it does sound like a airplane landing. However, it does a great job with pulling and filtering the cooking smells from the room, especially fried foods. The only thing that I would caution anyone on is the placement of the control switch. It is VERY close to the halogen light and I burned myself within a few days of installation. Beware.

  • Where is grease catcher

The horizontal bar where the baffles rest on has three holes. Is that designed to let the grease pass through? If that's the case, why none of the hoods come with grease catcher? I can't seen to find it as an accessory in your website.
    Asked by: Calvin
Thank you for your question on the Broan E64E30SS Range hood. The E64E30SS has a grease rail as you stated. This grease rail does not have a cup or pan to catch the grease. If the grease rail starts to accumulate grease, this rail needs to be wiped clean. If you have further questions please contact Technical Support at 800-637-1453.

Why is minimum height above cooktop 24"?

Usual guideline from elsewhere is between 18 and 30. 24 seems to be on higher side.
    Asked by: James
Thank you for your question on the model E64E30SS range hood. Our engineers have taken into consideration the amount of CFM the range hood has, along with the size and shape of the range hood, to come up with the optimum distance the hood should be above the range.

What is the minimum size duct I can reduce to?

I have a 5' run to the outside wall can I reduce down to a 6" duct?
    Asked by: Jay
This range hood is made to be used with an external or in-line blower unit. Since this is the case, 10" round duct is the minimum duct size that is recommended, with the exception of the HLB3 (280cfm). If the HLB3 is used, the minimum size is 8" round. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact our technical support group at 800-637-1453.

Is 23" enough distance from range to cooktop?

I have 33" available from the bottom of my cabinet where this hood would be installed to the top of my cooktop leaving 23" for the distance from the cooktop after installation. I see that the specs say at least 24" but would this one inch make that much of a difference and could we still safely install?
    Asked by: Tia
Thank you for your question on the model E64E30SS range hood. The installation instructions state “The minimum hood distance above cooktop must not be less than 24’’. We cannot suggest any installation other than what is listed in the installation instructions.

What is the wattage and kelvins for the lightbulbs?

    Asked by: landshark
Thank you for your question on the E64 series range hood. This hood is UL listed and approved for use with two 50 watt, GU10 halogen bulbs. We recommend that you use only the type of bulb recommended for your range hood. Using a replacement LED bulb will not void the warranty; however we cannot guarantee the operation or life of the LED bulbs. For more information, please contact Technical Support at 800-637-1453.
