Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and Efficient When renovating our main bathroom, we installed the Boran QTRE080FLT. Our contrator recommended this model to meet our needs for a quiet, attractive and efficient unit. We couldn't be more pleased with its quality and ease of installation.and most importantly, with its perfomance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very quite, easy install. However fan motor initially tripped the faceless "Leviton 7590" GFCI protecting the lighting circuit in this master bathroom. Tripping of the GFCI only occurs when fan motor is switched off. Replaced Leviton 7590 and issue was reduced to 25%. Now customer states that 50% of the times the fan is switched off, the GFCI trips. Is this common?

  • How to open to change light bulbs?

Your online pictures of model QTRE080FLT resembles my installed ceiling exhaust fan. (I can not see brand or model number.) How do I open it to replace lights?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on bathroom exhaust fan/lights. If you have a QTRE080FLT, you can use a small flat blade screwdriver along the long side of the lens to gently pry it out of the grille. If this is not a QTRE080FLT, we cannot be sure how to change the bulbs.

How far can 4" duct be run from fan to outside

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model QTRE080FLT exhaust fan/fluorescent light/night light. Using four inch rigid duct work the QTRE080FLT can handle up to 23 feet of straight duct work without losing any CFM. You need to reduce that distance by four feet for every elbow installed.

    Retrofit?

Does this fan/light kit have the same "easy to retrofit" features as the QTRE080R?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the models QTRE080FLT and the QTRE080R exhaust fans. The QTRE080R is designed for retrofit applications (installed from below), but the QTRE080FLT is not. If you do not have attic or crawl space access above the QTRE080FLT, you would need to cut a larger hole in the ceiling than normally would be necessary and patch the ceiling after the installation.

    Asked by: Anonymous

Do you have to install a third switch for the night light feature if you currently have a two switch panel (one for the light, one for the fan) from a

previous fan? Or can you "ignore" the night light feature? I'm assuming there would be extra electrician charges for adding a switch.
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model QTRE080FLT exhaust fan/fluorescent light/night light. To have independent operation of the fan, light and night light, you would need three switches. If you do not have a third switch, you can cap off the wire to the night light and not use it.
