Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lighting a big problem.... Can the halogen light bulbs be replaced with LEDs? The halogen bulbs put out an extraordinary amount of heat. Very unhappy with this heat issue. If there is an LED replacement please provide the part number so I can buy it. Also, I have read if there is a power outage the the lights come on automatically. Since we are away from our house in the summer does this mean we have to unscrew all 4 light bulbs every time we leave? Please advise. Hope we don't have to have it uninstalled and returned...........

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Light is always on after a power outage After a recent power outage for just 10 seconds, the lights automatically turned on and there is no way to turn it off including the fan as the control module thinks it is under a power surge. The product has not been tested enough to withstand basic use conditions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good overall product but with room for improvement We installed this hood with kitchen remodel 2 years ago. It's very attractive and easy to clean both the stainless steel surfaces and the removable filters. With light bulbs in the 4 corners it provides excellent lighting for the entire range top. Even in the highest fan setting, noise level is much, much lower than standard hoods which is wonderful. It has great additional features such as a night light and a heat sensor that prompts auto-turn on for the hood if necessary. The smoke/steam removal overall is superior for a home application and having 4 settings provides the perfect level needed for different cooking methods. Features for improvement would be: 1) Placement of fan motor in the center of the hood for better overall function, not on the left side. 2) Simplifying setting functions for clock, lights, etc. The instructions are not user friendly nor intuitive, in fact are the opposite. It is very easy to push a wrong button which could cause the automatic night light to engage at night, unbeknownst to you, or to reset the clock setting, very frustrating. This has been the main con for this product. Please rectify this Broan! I would definitely recommend this product for looks and function, however, be aware of user function issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs Great 5+ Years Purchased this after the microwave vent just couldn't cut it. Have used it for over 5+ years with no problems. First light just went out a few days ago. Several of the home appliance stores & Amazon carry the light, for about $5. Makes very little noise, and I really like the low-light setting when the kitchen is dark (light sensor). Also really enjoy when the unit senses that there's not enough suction for the amount of heat, and it kicks itself up a notch!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The hood has good features Only problem is that the fan makes a scraping noise when it starts up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from On the highest setting, this hood cannot pull the steam from a medium size pot of boiling water. I have a gas range that is 30" wide and I purchased the 36" wide range hood with 630 cfm. Not worth the money - works as well as the vent in my apartment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very happy with this fan! it was ok except that the screen covers and instructions weren't in the box i received. contacted the retailer & they said they weren't supposed to be included. i contacted broan & they sent me the covers i needed & i downloaded the instruction manual. very pleased with customer service. i replaced an undercabinet microwave with a useless fan with this when i was updating my kitchen. i was surprised the previous owner covered up the vent that goes to the outside. it was also a tight squeeze between my cabinets but it's in and works beautifully! i love it! i usually only need the low fan setting and it's so quiet, i forget it's on sometimes. took me a while to figure out how to adjust the other settings, like the clock & timer but they're so handy.a little more expensive than i thought it would be but it's ok

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! This vent was easy to install, it does the job. The lighting is a plus and the vent suction is what I had hoped for. I've had no problems since installation about four months ago. I strongly recommend this stove vent.

Also, If you also choose the rectangle duct & have to transition to round to go to the roof vent, it will require a expensive transition piece.

Green Read-Out Display wont show the current time

Please see the attached picture. I am trying to get it to display the time. I am able to SET the time as well as all of the other features outlined in the instructions. However the Green read out display always shows the letter "L" no matter what I do. See attached picture as it more accurately looks like " |-L " Help!

A nice person at Technical Support correctly diagnosed this as the wire from the heat sensor being disconnected. Just call them and they'll walk you through it.

    Can I disable the nightlight?

It seems that when I turn off the nightlight as per the instructions, it keeps coming back on when the kitchen is darkened. I would like to permanently disable it. Is this possible?
    Asked by: DaveM
I found the answer. Pressing and holding the low light setting button will only turn off the night light. for the moment. to disable the night light altogether, it is explained on page 3 of the instruction manual in the paragraph titled, "AMBIENT LIGHT SENSOR". Perhaps this could be referenced in the "LIGHT" section of the manual.
