Rated 5 out of 5 by from No regrets. I would get this same one again. I have had this hood for approx. 7 years. Performs great. I love that it slides in to hide when not in use. Adjustable fan speed. Awesome. Beautiful finish on exposed slide.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks good but functions fairly. Had somebody install it. No idea how to clean the inside. Been changing the filter and wiping down the metal parts. I am not sure if that is enough. Liked that it is hidden in a cabinet but not sure if works enough. The smoke detector in the house turns on when my husband is cooking steak or baking?? But you can smell outside the food he is cooking also

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best EVER ! ! ! A fan when you need it, a light when you need it - - other times it is almost out of sight, blending in with the cabinets. Even a tall 'chef' doesn't have to worry about banging their head. Totally love it - - and so does everyone that sees it - - when we point it out ! ! ! It is a bit more expensive than regular hood vents - - but then, this is NOT ordinary :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant & Functional We purchased our apartment condo right after it was built and the Broan Elite hood fan was there already and we couldn't be happier with the look of it and also the functionality. It's been more than a year now that I use this hood fan everyday since we are both big fans of cooking and baking and it has been great. Love the slide in design!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great features but a little hard to install I replaced the older model slide out hood with this one. Much better lighting design than the old incandescents. Disappointing to have to hack up and modify my existing cabinet to properly hang this one when it should have been a drop in. The old one was 18 years old and the fan and motor still worked fine but the fan/light switch was balky and the lamps had melted their lenses with no replacements available. Love the variable speed fan so you can keep the noise down when you're just simmering something. Hate the cheap filters. modified my old metal ones to use instead.

  • What is the height of the glass drawer that will show under the kitchen cabinet, and what color is the underside of the fan (on stainless version)

I want to know what will be visible along the bottom of the cabinet, viewing the cabinet from the front, as I am trying to have a line of wall cabinets that line up perfectly, and am wondering how the installation of the fan will affect the look, or will it be almost invisible? Also, if you looked under the cabinet, is the underside of the stainless/brushed aluminum fan also a stainless color? Thanks
    Asked by: esther
The height of the glass drawer that slides out is 1 inch. While it will be visible, it won't detract from your cabinet line by much. It is a stainless color looking at the range hood from the underside.

Is there easy access to the filter for cleaning

    Asked by: Carolyn
Thank you for your question on the model 153001 slide-out range hood. To access the filter you will need to pull the drawer slides out. Rotate the panel clips and swing the panel open. We have attached a picture of the panel clips for your convenience. Once the panel is open you can slide out the filter and replace it. Propoer placement of hood above range?

I see you said that the proper distance is a max of 30' above the range. If the distance is 35" above the range, will you lose effieciancy of any significance?
    Asked by: Chris
Thank you for your question on the model 153001 range hood. If the range hood is installed more than 30 inches above the cook top, you will lose efficiency. You will decrease the performance and effectiveness of your hood if installed higher than the manufacturer's recommendations.

Is this a drop-in replacement for an older Broan model 1530 Silhouette range hood?

    Asked by: JL
Thank you for your question on the 153001 Silhouette slide-out range hood. We have had this model range hood for a number of years, so yes if you have an older model 1530, this would be the same range hood. You can view the specification sheet and installation instructions on the product page on our website.
