• Overview says LED lights but....

....Installation Guide says: Install the Light Bulbs (BPDC1 Series only) Install two shielded Halogen Bulbs (120 V, 50 W max., MR16 or PAR16 with GU10 base), not included. and then further says LED lights are not recommended. Please advise if this hood accepts LED lights and what size/type should be purchased for it.

Thank you for your questions today. You mention the model BPDC in your question, but list your question under the BPDP model. We will try to clarify for you. The BPDC model uses two 50 watt halogen bulbs which are included (the installs are incorrect). We recommend that you use only the type of bulb recommended for your range hood. Using a replacement LED bulb will not void the warranty; however we cannot guarantee the operation or life of the LED bulbs. Due to higher heat generated by cooking, the lifespan of the bulb could be greatly shortened. Improper controls for the LED bulb can also cause flickering on low light settings or even no light at all. Sometimes the LED replacement may not shut off, staying on at a very low level even when the light switch is off. The BPDP uses LED's which are included with the purchase of the hood. If you have further questions, please contact Technical Support at 800-637-1453.

In a ductless installation, where does the air go after it gets sucked up into the fan?

I purchased this product and intend to mount it directly over the range using the ductless installation. After I knock out the recirculating plate, where does the air go?
Asked by: Mike
Thank you for your question on the Broan BPDP130SS. After you remove the 3 screws retaining the recirculation cover plate to the hood the air gets drawn up through the bottom of the filters and then returns into your kitchen through the area that the plate was just removed on top of your hood. If you have further questions please contact Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453.

Still need LED lighting explanation

I'm still confused and ask for further clarification as I would like to purchase this hood, and I do not want halogen lights because of both the heat generated by the lights and due to the energy usage. Overview says: "Bright, single intensity LED modules – supported by a 3-year warranty – illuminate evenly and are tested in cooking environments to ensure long life without dimming." (1) Do the LED bulbs to fit the LED modules included and referred to above COME WITH this hood; and (2) When you say certain LED bulbs do not perform well, are you referring to the LED bulbs touted in this unit? Thank you for any more clarification you can provide.

Thank you for your question on the Broan BPDP130SS. The BPDP130SS unit comes with an LED module. This module is exclusively design for the Broan BPDP130SS. Other Broan branded hoods use halogen light bulbs and we do not recommend replacing those style bulbs with LED equivalent. The LED light modules that are used in our range hood are design for the heat produced from your cooking equipment.
