Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really removes cooking oders This is a great solution for the kitchen when matcehd with the Broan 293603 Downdraft fan. At 1100 cfm is so powerfull that if the flames on the range are on low and the fan on high it can even suck out the flames. You would almost never need it on high. It does take a heating and cooling specialist to install the blower and vent.

Fan does not blow at any setting but high

This is a new installation. Most of the duct size is 10". The initial duct stub up contains 2-22.5 degree bends from the Elite hood insert. It passes through the cabinet and into the attic. It is 8" duct. Once in the attic it is transitioned immediately to 10". There are 2-90 degree bends coming off the stub-up, then another as the duct terminates into the inlet side of he blower. On the outlet side there is one more 90 degree bend and a 45 as the duct terminates into the china cap. When the rheostat is initially set on low, the motor just hums, it isn't until it is given full amperage that it begins to blow. Any setting other than high stalls the motor and it just hums. Is the problem the motor, the capacitor, the rheostat or the duct?

    Remote blower for Broan EI5936SS?

The Broan EI5936SS comes with an internal blower, but I prefer to mount the blower remotely. What are my options? Can I order the hood without a blower?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model EI5936SS range hood. The EI5936SS has an internal 500 CFM fan only. There is no option for an external fan with this model.

Is a motor controller available without a hood liner?

I'd like to use the HLB9 blower with a custom vent hood in the kitchen. Can I get a motor controller for the blower from Braun that isn't part of a liner kit? Can you provide the motor details so I can match a compatible controller?
