  • E6048TSS is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from powerful and good looking range hood Looks great, and has excellent exhaust pull. Variable fan and two light settings are adequate for this appliance. It is convertible for a remote fan. Downsides are that it really is best to have a 10" venting pipe system. Due to an old house limitation, we have a 6" pipe system and I believe this makes the internal fan very very loud. It's a jet engine noise when on medium or high fan speed. The one negative in the design in my opinion is that the exhaust, and thus grease, gets pulled through the light socket cavities when you are cooking on the front range burners. This I believe to be a design flaw, as it should be a sealed system forcing all air through the baffle filters. So generally pleased, and do recommend, but not perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the money, great value. Easy to follow instructions and installation. I was a little concerned about the internal exhaust motor, but found it to be more efficient than stated. Excellent lighting system, it has two levels, low and high. I would highly recommend this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent range hood We are very pleased with our hood. We searched for awhile to find the right one. The Broan hood looks great and is sturdy. The lights and fan are great. We chose Broan because the specifications were what we wanted, the look was want we wanted and it doesn't say "Broan" on it. We didn't want to have our hood with a brand name all over it. We would definitely recommend Broan hoods.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works very well, didn't last We had our kitchen remodeled as part of our house purchase before moving in, and put in this hood. We bought it a little under 2 years ago moved in about 18 months ago. It works really well, looks great, and wasn't particularly pricy, for what you're getting. However, it's just not lasted. We've been living in the house for a little over a year, and it's now making an awful noise. Sounds like the blower is trapped on something, but I've taken it out, and aside from the grease it's accumulated, nothing is trapped. It was mounted and installed professionally, so it wasn't shoddy work. The blower has just lasted a year - that's it. For a blower that cost over $1000 I'd expect many years of service, not just one. It's a pity, because it's a really great hood. Good lighting, great exhaust (when new), and looks professional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does what it was designed for!!!!!!!!!!!! Great pro hood, I had others for a lot more money but they just don't work as well. If you want a better hood you would have to go to a remote blower model. And if you want you can replace halogen bulbs with led. This hood is noisier then some of the others but that's because it actually pulling air and smoke out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The variable speed fan isn't. The noise is absolutely like a jet engine. Very hard to be in the room with this vent hood. When operating, it works fine - just so loudly no one can hear themselves think. I have complained and asked what the solution may be, but no one can offer a solution. The style is clean and the brand is supposed to be among the best - too bad it hasn't been satisfactory in other areas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Update: Broan really came through! Excellent service! I made a previous comment & wrote a very negative review about this range hood (refer to mikimikh, Saratoga). Well, an actual person from Broan contacted me, Tammy, and she actually read/listened to my issues & she came through for me! She got in contact with a Broan technician, Chuck, & he authorized the repair with my local repair shop. Now I have a brand new motor! One thing I didn't know until the repair was the importance of the internal/external blower. We have an internal blower. The repairmen mentioned that he would've just turned around & couldn't work on it, if it was an external blower. I would have had to go back to my general contractor. Thus, I'm also updating & giving the product 5 stars for the ease of installation. Hew! We now have a motor & I'm actually using it. And, it does a great job! I even feel the air being sucked in when I'm standing under it! Most important for me was the fact that Broan actually heard its customer and have a very capable/effective customer service dept! Even if the product had issues initially, the way they took care of it restored my faith in the company that stood behind its product!

    Variable Fan Speed? Dimmable Lights?

You mention noise levels on "highest" and "lowest" fan speed settings. How many speed settings are there, total? or is it a rotating speed dial with (almost) infinite options? Also are there hi/low or dimmable options on the lights?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Lights have three fixed settings, low and high and off The fan is a variable dial from low to high There is a separate rocker switch for the fan: on/off

On the 2nd pg of the E6048TSS spec sheet it lists parts for connecting the hood. Where can I buy MODEL 427(4½” x 18½”TO 10” ROUND6” HIGH - LATERAL)?

Lowe's didn't seem to know. Is there a specific part number for this item, I couldn't find it on your site either... Thanks
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model 427 transition. The model 427 is a current model and any dealer or home building center that sells Broan products should be able to order it. If you input the model 427 into the model search box at the top of our web site page, on-line dealers' links will be available.

    Blowers blowing into the house

I have the e60000 series with dual blower 48", it seems like the blowers are not ventilating out but blowing in. I put a paper in front of the blowers and it blows it down. Is that what's suppose to happen. I have a ventilation that connects to the outside. It's vertically installed with the fans facing left if you are looking straight at it. It also seems that left blower is a little weaker than the right blower.

Thank you for your question on the model E6048TSS range hood. The E6048TSS range hood should be ducted with 4½” x 18½” rectangular duct and it can be converted to 10” round. If the fan is blowing down towards your range we would assume that you have some sort of duct work blockage. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.
