Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did not work when installed Bought it to replace the old Model 763 Exhaust Fan. Once installed, flipped the switch, motor was humming but the blades would only turn 1/8 of a turn when I assisted them. Need to return it and get another one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New bath fan The fan runs great. But, in place it is a bit louder than the demo fan was at the home improvement store. The only issue we have is that the dampers do not automatically close without some manual coaxing. Do not know why this is or how to remedy the problem. It was also missing one of the small rubber stops for one of the dampers when it came out of the box. We discussed this with the store where we purchased it and they informed us that Broan Customer service should take care of that at no cost. Upon notification to Broan they promptly shipped two rubber bumpers at no cost. We are very pleased about that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good I wish you could get a louvered fan cover that could be opened or closed per season like a floor vent cover.

Total installation time was about 2-1/2 hours for me as a homeowner (non-professional). The appearance and quality is excellent and it moves plenty of air for my small bathroom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a good product. This fan gets a lot of use and is a little louder than I would prefer, but it has worked consistently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great Thanks to the quick and knowledgable response from the experts at Venting Direct, I was able to get the right unit for both my bathrooms. Installation was easy and they both work great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from as advertised The installation was easy because the exhaust pipe was the right size for this model. One must make sure they know the size of the exhaust pipe if you are replacing the whole fan assembly. Also, one must know about electrical systems when installing fan...turning off the power while installing. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase of two fan assemblies. Would recommend this model.

  • Replacement Motor

Is the fan model 673 different than the 673-C? I have a model 673-C fan. Can you confirm the part number for a new motor? Thanks very much.

Is the Model #673 the same as the Model #673-C?

The fan in our bathroom died. Need to replace. Our sticker indicates it's a Model #673-C, but only see Model #673 on your website.

Thank you for your question on the model 673-C vertical discharge exhaust fan. The “C” is just a revision letter. The current 673 would be the same unit.

    Speed Controller

I installed a Leviton RTD01 Fan Speed Controller and Light Dimmer combination switch with my Broan 673C fan. Everything seemed to work ok initially, but the first time I ran the fan in actual use the fan overheated and quit working after less than 5 minutes. Should the fan have worked ok with this controller? The speed controller has 5 positions -- off, max, high, med, low -- and I did notice that the speed on max was lower than on high (max and med about the same), so maybe the controller was faulty.

Thank you for your question on the model 673 vertical discharge fan. The 673 is designed to work with our model 78W or 78V, four speed fan control. Since the unit has not been tested with the Leviton RTD01 control, we cannot tell you if it works with this control or if the control was defective. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

Can a light be retrofitted on a 673 model exhaust fan?

I am finishing an upgrade of my bathroom and have hit a snag with this fan in the bathroom. The fan motor works fine, but I would like to add a light fixture to the fan to improve lighting in that section of the bathroom. Is there a possible solution/retrofit add-on to make this exhaust fan become an exhaust fan and light?
    Asked by: dlpcpa1
Thank you for your question on the model 673 exhaust fan. There is no option to install a light on the model 673. If you need a unit with a light, you will need to completely remove the 673 from the ceiling and install a different model.
