Total installation time was about 2-1/2 hours for me as a homeowner (non-professional). The appearance and quality is excellent and it moves plenty of air for my small bathroom. March 10, 2014

I am finishing an upgrade of my bathroom and have hit a snag with this fan in the bathroom. The fan motor works fine, but I would like to add a light fixture to the fan to improve lighting in that section of the bathroom. Is there a possible solution/retrofit add-on to make this exhaust fan become an exhaust fan and light?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 673 exhaust fan. There is no option to install a light on the model 673. If you need a unit with a light, you will need to completely remove the 673 from the ceiling and install a different model.

Can I replace this unit w/ another that plugs in? Also, the fan was working fine when I took it down to clean it. I used great care NOT to get any water in the motor. After reinstall, it will not work. AND, the metal mounting brackets got quite hot to the touch. I unplugged it. Can I get a replacement for this motor?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 505 vertical discharge fan. The only parts available for the 505 would be the original replacement parts. The motor, part number 99080176, can be purchased through the “Shop for Parts” link at the top of our web site page.

Thank you for your question on the model 505 vertical discharge exhaust fan. If you currently have a model 505 installed in your house, you can buy a new 505 and use the fan assembly in the existing unit.

Can bending the damper fins at a greater angle increase the 'lift' so they open more? Mine has trouble opening up both sides.

Thank you for your question on the model 505 vertical discharge fan. We do not recommend bending the damper blades to try to get it open further. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 505 vertical discharge fan. You cannot use a light dimmer to control the speed of the 505, but you can use a solid state speed control (our model 57W).
