Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is of good quality, makes good flow and easy installation . . . This product is of good quality, makes good flow and easy installation. Total installation time was about 2-1/2 hours for me as a homeowner (non-professional). The appearance and quality is excellent and it moves plenty of air for my small bathroom. March 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overall a good product. This fan gets a lot of use and is a little louder than I would prefer, but it has worked consistently. March 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by good product using it in my kitchen celing area over the stove approximately 6 feet over the stove under a brick archway. February 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works Great Thanks to the quick and knowledgable response from the experts at Venting Direct, I was able to get the right unit for both my bathrooms. Installation was easy and they both work great! July 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by as advertised The installation was easy because the exhaust pipe was the right size for this model. One must make sure they know the size of the exhaust pipe if you are replacing the whole fan assembly. Also, one must know about electrical systems when installing fan...turning off the power while installing. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase of two fan assemblies. Would recommend this model. November 26, 2010

Thank you for your question on the model 505 vertical discharge exhaust fan. The grille mounting knob breaking is not something that would be a common occurrence. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 505 vertical discharge exhaust fan. Since you have a damper on the roof cap, it would not be totally necessary to have the damper on the 505. We would recommend using it because it could possibly keep some additional hot or cold air from coming back into the room.

There are two official replacement parts listed for the fan blade in the 504.

    99020166A Blade - 504-A, B
    99020271A Blade 504-C,

What is the functional difference between the two parts? Is one quieter than the other?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the Broan model 504 fan blades. These two blades are not interchangeable, so you need to know your model number with the revision letter after it so you can be sure you order the correct part. The model number can be found up, inside the housing on a specification label. It will read 504-A, 504-B, or 504-C. Once you know the revision letter of your fan, you will be able to order the correct blade. For further questions, please contact Technical Support directly at 1-800-637-1453.

    Odd noise when shutting down

    Customer avatar

     on 505
I had a licensed electrician install my Broan 505 fan yesterday. When I turn off the fan, it makes a funny sound while it is in the process of shutting down. (Sort of like a rock in a tin can.) My electrician seemed to think that the damper closing is what is causing this noise.

Is this normal? A known issue with or without a fix? Is the fan defective?

    Thanks.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the Broan model 505. Yes, the 505 does have a damper inside the unit. We do also recommend having a roof cap with a built-in back draft damper as well. It could very well be the damper inside the unit that you are hearing. This would be a normal function of the unit and would not be defective. Should you need more assistance, please contact Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 673 vertical discharge exhaust fan. The “C” would just be a revision number. The part number for the motor would be 99080199 and you can get it through the “Shop for Parts” link at the top of our web site page or by contacting Customer Service at 1-800-558-1711.
