Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Looks Average Performance The unit is ok. The filters are poorly made. I replaced mine after 10 months because the filters sold with my unit are junk. July 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the different features it has Did alot of online search for a range hood, then wanted to see it & looked several places until we found this one. We loved the features it has & since we don't have a way to vent it, this one could be either way. We love the 3 light settings, the lighted display, & how quiet the fan is compared to a couple of others we looked at. The ease of putting it up isn't the greatest, you do need help, but it wasn't bad. Only had it a couple of days so we'll see, February 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product I love the touch button feature. The fan is very quiet on low and medium and it works really well! March 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by High tech for just a Unit All is thrue what is being reported you have to be Handy thats for shure in Order to solve all the problems, i am a Sucker for high tech and good looks, but what got me no Bulbs for the Price, this is not Cool January 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overall an excellent buy I recently gutted and rebuilt and entire 1957 kitchen. I purchased my Broan under range hood on the recommendation of my kitchen/appliance advisor. It looks greats, performs very well, and has many useful features. My only good rating is due to the fact it isn't an outside vent and strong odors still linger in the kitchen area. However, since I have a ceiling fan over the eat in area, I use that combined with the range hood and have found that combination very effective on odors. I would gladly recommend this range hood. Rated 4 out of 5 by This product has excellent features. We are extremely happy with our Broan Range Hood. Installed unvented, the unit still provides adequate ventilation. The sound level is much quieter than other models on display. Makes a big difference in the kitchen. The lighting is very good. March 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quiet and Beautiful This hood is GORGEOUS and makes my kitchen look very updated. Everyone notices it. It is pretty, it is quiet and it is bright! I love it! March 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hood, good value We purchased this hood to replace an under the counter microwave and could not be happier with our choice. The hood is very quite even at the top speed and removes all of the steam and odors while cooking. We love the electronic controls over the old conventional rocker switches, and really use the 3 light and 3 fan settings. We had some problems with the unit just stopping, but after contacting Broan they mailed us replacement parts quickly and paid for the return parts, very quick and friendly customer service. If you are looking for a good hood to upgrade from a less efficient hood or changing out a microwave with a fan, you cannot go wrong with Broan. March 10, 2014

Ducted install done. air blowing out of top vents. Proper baffle instructions followed for ducted install. Can I duct tape the baffle to prevent any ducted air from leaving interior fan top vents and fouling cabinets above?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model CJD330SS range hood. With the baffle properly installed for a ducted installation, you should get very little air through the vents in the top of the hood. If that is objectionable, it will not hurt anything to duct tape the baffle to eliminate this air leakage.

We have bought two Broan CJD330SS range hoods and installed them into two different houses. We have found the range hood fan and lights will just turn on by themselves. Is this a known issue and is there a solution to this issue?

What size duct should I use ?

    Customer avatar

I need to duct my hood outside. Since my stove is in the middle of an interior kitchen wall I need to go up through the ceiling and then have the duct work make a 90 degree turn then run horizontal to an outside wall. Since square duct work does not come in 7", should I increase the size to 8" or decrease it to 6" when I make the switch from round to rectangular duct.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model CJD330SS range hood. The specifications for the CJD330SS range hood calls for either 3-1/4” x 10” rectangular duct work or 7” round. If you want to start with the 3-1/4” x 10” and convert to 7” round, we do offer a transition (model number 412H) that will do this. If you want to use 8” round duct work, it would not be a problem, but we would not suggest going to 6”.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model CJD330SS range hood. There is an internal baffle that needs to be turned around when this range hood is installed in a ducted installation. It sounds like they forgot about the baffle. The installation instructions are available for download from our web site. You may want to look at page 3, steps 6 – 10.
