  • Energy efficient solutions in traditional designs. A bath fan needn’t call attention to itself, especially when you don’t want it to overpower the design of your bath or powder room. More important, it shouldn’t call attention to itself on your electric bill. With energy efficiency for the high-traffic bathroom, the QT110E simply does its job quietly, in every sense of the word.

Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent performace&quite I installed this exhaust fan in the ceiling of our Rec Room above the bar area.We don't Allow smoking in the house other then downstairs. The QT110E removes smoke &odors and even non-smokers are not bothered if someone is smoking. The unit runs so quite I keep checking to see if it is on.We also run an air purifier in the Rec Room as to keep air fresh. Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is powerful and very quiet Several years ago I replaced the fan in our main bath with a QT110E. Five years later it still runs like a charm. A number of people commented how quiet it was so when we needed to replace the very loud old bath fan in our master bath, I purchased another. Installation would have been very easy except for where it was positioned in the attic (at the edge of the roof line with very little clearance). Despite the lack of room, the fan went in easily. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product I purchased this fan to replace the old fan in my master bathroom in my 1970's home. The original fan was very loud and did not exhaust quickly enough leading to steam clouds and fogged mirrors. The new fan is so quiet that we occasionally forget to shut it off. It also moves a tremendous amount of air, even trying to we have not been able to fog up the mirrors which is exactly what I was looking for. This unit is designed for new construction so retrofitting into my older home took some time but overall the install went smoothly. October 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by An excellent value and product After an installation that presented little difficulty I have used the QT110E on many occasions. I found the features offered to be as advertised, I find it to be powerful yet quiet. August 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Product works very well This product is very efficient and does the job that I purchased it for. August 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by More Than Excellent The bathroom needed to be remodeled and since it did not have a bathroom fan in it before, we wanted to do the re-model right. We gutted the room and re-did the works. This fan/light combination was the perfect choice. Big enough to handle any moisture issue and it is so quite. The night light was an added bonus and we could not have made a better choice in selecting the Broan model #QT110E bath fan. Very pleased and supper easy to install. February 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very quiet We've been extremely pleased with the QUIET performance and air movement. The night light feature has been a pleasant surprise, as we didn't think we'd use it, but it is great when we have house guests., February 20, 2013

    Why did fan become noisier

Shortly after installation the fan began to develop a whinning sound? I checked the tightness of all screws. What else can I do to correct the noise?

    Thank you for your question.
Generally speaking, any unusual vibrations or noises will be present from the initial installation and are normally due to a loosely mounted housing, etc. In your case, it sounds as if all was normal for awhile and the “whining” started after a bit. Since this is the case, I would suggest that the ducting be temporarily disconnected at the fan. If the “whining” stops, this usually indicates a problem in the ducting or wall/roof cap. If it continues to be a problem with the duct disconnected, please call the Technical Support group at 800-637-1453 for additional suggestions.

Why is the QT110E restricted to ceiling mounting only? What is the issue with wall mounting? I bought this fan because it was quiet at the store. Upon reading the installation guide, it says no wall mounting. The restriction is counterintuitive.

Thank you for your question on the model QT110E exhaust fan. The QT110E was designed for ceiling installation only. If mounted in a wall the unit could be noisier, have stress placed on the motor and cause premature failure of the motor.

Thank you for your question on the model QT110E exhaust fan. We have a model 61 (15 minute) and model 59 (60 minute) timer that will work fine with the QT110E.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QT110E exhaust fan. The QT110E is designed for bathrooms up to 100 square feet with an eight foot ceiling. The QT110E can handle up to 13 feet of four inch, straight, rigid duct work without losing any CFM. You would need to reduce that distance by four feet for every elbow.

We (DIY) would like to install the QT110e in our house. The house has a fuse type electrical system, not breaker system with ground. Will this fan still operate without upgrading the electrical system to support the fan and GFI?

Thank you for your question on the model QT110E exhaust fan. The QT110E will only draw .7 amps and should work fine in a fuse type electrical system, but a GFI circuit does need a ground.
