Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! We purchased the QT110E for two bathrooms to replace what existed when our home was originally built. We are very pleased with these fans. I never knew how bathroom fans were suppose to perform until these were installed. The fans are very quite and easily remove the steam from the bathroom. Before these fans were installed we always fought with excess steam in the bathrooms.....not any more! I only wish we had installed these sooner. Very happy with this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product is powerful and quiet I like the product but beware that installation may be tricky in some situations as the fan exhausts out the side of the box. The location of the nearest roof truss and roof vent can force the fan exhaust tubing path to be in less than perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't go wrong purchasing this ceiling fan. Ceiling fan is well made. Is much quieter than my previous fan. Looks appealing and blends in well on the ceiling.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loud The was not the 1 scone fan that the packaging claims. My home improvement store didn't have this one plugged for it's customers to see a demo. Now I know why. I tried another 1.5 scone fan and it was much quieter than my current 40 year old fan, so I thought 1.0 scones will be great! what a disappointment! I thought I had a defective fan, so I went back to My home improvement store and replaced the guts of my fan with another set of guts from a new fan I took off the shelf. My local home improvement store was great. I got home and installed the new guts from the second fan. Still loud and disappointing. This fan is more like 4 or 5 scones, not the 1 that is claims to be. Other than that, it was very easy to install and seems to be a good quality product. Just not 1 Scone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is powerful and very quiet Several years ago I replaced the fan in our main bath with a QT110E. Five years later it still runs like a charm. A number of people commented how quiet it was so when we needed to replace the very loud old bath fan in our master bath, I purchased another. Installation would have been very easy except for where it was positioned in the attic (at the edge of the roof line with very little clearance). Despite the lack of room, the fan went in easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I purchased this fan to replace the old fan in my master bathroom in my 1970's home. The original fan was very loud and did not exhaust quickly enough leading to steam clouds and fogged mirrors. The new fan is so quiet that we occasionally forget to shut it off. It also moves a tremendous amount of air, even trying to we have not been able to fog up the mirrors which is exactly what I was looking for. This unit is designed for new construction so retrofitting into my older home took some time but overall the install went smoothly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent value and product After an installation that presented little difficulty I have used the QT110E on many occasions. I found the features offered to be as advertised, I find it to be powerful yet quiet.

  • Installing in a finished ceiling, no attic access

I would like to install the QT110E replacing an existing fan. Since the ceiling is finished with wallboard with no attic access, how can I secure the unit to the joist? The flanges are located on the outside edges of the unit, so I would need to cut the hole larger to have access for securing, but the grate would not cover that extension. The exhaust and electrical also require external access, but I'm hoping I can connect those before positioning into attic.

Thank you for your question on the model number QT110E exhaust fan. You are correct. Without attic access you will need to cut the hole in the ceiling larger than would normally be needed and patch the ceiling after the installation is done. We would suggest using the model XB110 instead of the QT110E. It is made to be installed without attic access. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

    How to clean this?

Does the grill part remove from the ceiling for cleaning? Or what is the best way to clean this?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model QT110E exhaust fan. The grille and the fan assembly will come out of the unit housing for thorough cleaning. The installation instructions are available for download from our web site and they show how the unit goes together and comes apart. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

    Why did fan become noisier

Shortly after installation the fan began to develop a whinning sound? I checked the tightness of all screws. What else can I do to correct the noise?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. Generally speaking, any unusual vibrations or noises will be present from the initial installation and are normally due to a loosely mounted housing, etc. In your case, it sounds as if all was normal for awhile and the “whining” started after a bit. Since this is the case, I would suggest that the ducting be temporarily disconnected at the fan. If the “whining” stops, this usually indicates a problem in the ducting or wall/roof cap. If it continues to be a problem with the duct disconnected, please call the Technical Support group at 800-637-1453 for additional suggestions.

Why is the QT110E restricted to ceiling mounting only, not wall mounting

Why is the QT110E restricted to ceiling mounting only? What is the issue with wall mounting? I bought this fan because it was quiet at the store. Upon reading the installation guide, it says no wall mounting. The restriction is counterintuitive.
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model QT110E exhaust fan. The QT110E was designed for ceiling installation only. If mounted in a wall the unit could be noisier, have stress placed on the motor and cause premature failure of the motor.
